1  Then²²⁷ Joshua³⁰⁹¹ called⁷¹²¹ the Reubenites,⁷²⁰⁶ and the Gadites,¹⁴²⁵ and the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁴²⁹⁴ of Manasseh,⁴⁵¹⁹

2  And said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ them, Ye⁸⁵⁹ have kept^{8104 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² the servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ you, and have obeyed⁸⁰⁸⁵ my voice⁶⁹⁶³ in all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ I commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ you:

3  Ye have not³⁸⁰⁸ left^{5800 853} your brethren²⁵¹ these²⁰⁸⁸ many⁷²²⁷ days³¹¹⁷ unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ this²⁰⁸⁸ day,³¹¹⁷ but have kept^{8104 853} the charge⁴⁹³¹ of the commandment⁴⁶⁸⁷ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God.⁴³⁰

4  And now⁶²⁵⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ hath given rest⁵¹¹⁷ unto your brethren,²⁵¹ as⁸³⁴ he promised¹⁶⁹⁶ them: therefore now⁶²⁵⁸ return⁶⁴³⁷ ye, and get¹⁹⁸⁰ you unto your tents,¹⁶⁸ and unto⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of your possession,²⁷² which⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² the servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ gave⁵⁴¹⁴ you on the other side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan.³³⁸³

5  But⁷⁵³⁵ take diligent³⁹⁶⁶ heed⁸¹⁰⁴ to do^{6213 853} the commandment⁴⁶⁸⁷ and the law,⁸⁴⁵¹ which⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² the servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ charged⁶⁶⁸⁰ you, to love^{157 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ and to walk¹⁹⁸⁰ in all³⁶⁰⁵ his ways,¹⁸⁷⁰ and to keep⁸¹⁰⁴ his commandments,⁴⁶⁸⁷ and to cleave¹⁶⁹² unto him, and to serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ him with all³⁶⁰⁵ your heart³⁸²⁴ and with all³⁶⁰⁵ your soul.⁵³¹⁵

6  So Joshua³⁰⁹¹ blessed¹²⁸⁸ them, and sent them away:⁷⁹⁷¹ and they went¹⁹⁸⁰ unto⁴¹³ their tents.¹⁶⁸

7  Now to the one half²⁶⁷⁷ of the tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ Moses⁴⁸⁷² had given⁵⁴¹⁴ possession in Bashan:¹³¹⁶ but unto the other half²⁶⁷⁷ thereof gave⁵⁴¹⁴ Joshua³⁰⁹¹ among⁵⁹⁷³ their brethren²⁵¹ on this side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan³³⁸³ westward.³²²⁰ And when³⁵⁸⁸ Joshua³⁰⁹¹ sent them away⁷⁹⁷¹ also¹⁵⁷¹ unto⁴¹³ their tents,¹⁶⁸ then he blessed¹²⁸⁸ them,

8  And he spoke⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ them, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Return⁷⁷²⁵ with much⁷²²⁷ riches⁵²³³ unto⁴¹³ your tents,¹⁶⁸ and with very³⁹⁶⁶ much⁷²²⁷ cattle,⁴⁷³⁵ with silver,³⁷⁰¹ and with gold,²⁰⁹¹ and with brass,⁵¹⁷⁸ and with iron,¹²⁷⁰ and with very³⁹⁶⁶ much⁷²³⁵ raiment:⁸⁰⁰⁸ divide²⁵⁰⁵ the spoil⁷⁹⁹⁸ of your enemies³⁴¹ with⁵⁹⁷³ your brethren.²⁵¹

9  And the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ and the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ returned,⁷⁷²⁵ and departed¹⁹⁸⁰ from^{4480 854} the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of Shiloh,^{4480 7887} which⁸³⁴ is in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Canaan,³⁶⁶⁷ to go¹⁹⁸⁰ unto⁴¹³ the country⁷⁷⁶ of Gilead,¹⁵⁶⁸ to⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of their possession,²⁷² whereof⁸³⁴ they were possessed,²⁷⁰ according⁵⁹²¹ to the word⁶³¹⁰ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ by the hand³⁰²⁷ of Moses.⁴⁸⁷²

10  And when they came⁹³⁵ unto⁴¹³ the borders¹⁵⁵² of Jordan,³³⁸³ that⁸³⁴ are in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Canaan,³⁶⁶⁷ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ and the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ built¹¹²⁹ there⁸⁰³³ an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ by⁵⁹²¹ Jordan,³³⁸³ a great¹⁴¹⁹ altar⁴¹⁹⁶ to see⁴⁷⁵⁸ to.

11  And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ say,⁵⁵⁹ Behold,²⁰⁰⁹ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ and the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ have built^{1129 853} an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ over against^{413 4136} the land⁷⁷⁶ of Canaan,³⁶⁶⁷ in⁴¹³ the borders¹⁵⁵² of Jordan,³³⁸³ at⁴¹³ the passage¹⁵⁵² of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel.³⁴⁷⁸

12  And when the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ of it, the whole³⁶⁰⁵ congregation⁵⁷¹² of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ gathered themselves together⁶⁹⁵⁰ at Shiloh,⁷⁸⁸⁷ to go⁵⁹²⁷ up to war⁶⁶³⁵ against⁵⁹²¹ them.

13  And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ sent⁷⁹⁷¹ unto⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben,⁷²⁰⁵ and to⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Gad,¹⁴¹⁰ and to⁴¹³ the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh,⁴⁵¹⁹ into⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Gilead,^{1568 853} Phinehas⁶³⁷² the son¹¹²¹ of Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸

14  And with⁵⁹⁷³ him ten⁶²³⁵ princes,⁵³⁸⁷ of each chief^{5387 259 5387 259} house¹⁰⁰⁴ a prince¹ throughout all³⁶⁰⁵ the tribes⁴²⁹⁴ of Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ and each one³⁷⁶ was a head⁷²¹⁸ of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of their fathers¹ among the thousands⁵⁰⁵ of Israel.³⁴⁷⁸

15  And they came⁹³⁵ unto⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben,⁷²⁰⁵ and to⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Gad,¹⁴¹⁰ and to⁴¹³ the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh,⁴⁵¹⁹ unto⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Gilead,¹⁵⁶⁸ and they spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ with⁸⁵⁴ them, saying,⁵⁵⁹

16  Thus³⁵⁴¹ saith⁵⁵⁹ the whole³⁶⁰⁵ congregation⁵⁷¹² of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ What⁴¹⁰⁰ trespass⁴⁶⁰⁴ is this²⁰⁸⁸ that⁸³⁴ ye have committed⁴⁶⁰³ against the God⁴³⁰ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ to turn away⁷⁷²⁵ this day³¹¹⁷ from following^{4480 310} the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ in that ye have built¹¹²⁹ you an altar,⁴¹⁹⁶ that ye might rebel⁴⁷⁷⁵ this day³¹¹⁷ against the LORD?³⁰⁶⁸

17  Is ⁸⁵³ the iniquity⁵⁷⁷¹ of Peor⁶⁴⁶⁵ too little⁴⁵⁹² for us, from⁴⁴⁸⁰ which⁸³⁴ we are not³⁸⁰⁸ cleansed²⁸⁹¹ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ this²⁰⁸⁸ day,³¹¹⁷ although there was¹⁹⁶¹ a plague⁵⁰⁶³ in the congregation⁵⁷¹² of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸

18  But that ye⁸⁵⁹ must turn away⁷⁷²⁵ this day³¹¹⁷ from following^{4480 310} the LORD?³⁰⁶⁸ and it will be,¹⁹⁶¹ seeing ye⁸⁵⁹ rebel⁴⁷⁷⁵ today³¹¹⁷ against the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ that tomorrow⁴²⁷⁹ he will be wroth⁷¹⁰⁷ with⁴¹³ the whole³⁶⁰⁵ congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel.³⁴⁷⁸

19  Notwithstanding,³⁸⁹ if⁵¹⁸ the land⁷⁷⁶ of your possession²⁷² be unclean,²⁹³¹ then pass ye over⁵⁶⁷⁴ unto⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of the possession²⁷² of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ wherein⁸³⁴ the LORD's³⁰⁶⁸ tabernacle⁴⁹⁰⁸ dwelleth,^{7931 8033} and take possession²⁷⁰ among⁸⁴³² us: but rebel⁴⁷⁷⁵ not⁴⁰⁸ against the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ nor⁴⁰⁸ rebel⁴⁷⁷⁵ against us, in building¹¹²⁹ you an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ beside^{4480 1107} the altar⁴¹⁹⁶ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ our God.⁴³⁰

20  Did not³⁸⁰⁸ Achan⁵⁹¹² the son¹¹²¹ of Zerah²²²⁶ commit⁴⁶⁰³ a trespass⁴⁶⁰⁴ in the accursed thing,²⁷⁶⁴ and wrath⁷¹¹⁰ fell¹⁹⁶¹ on⁵⁹²¹ all³⁶⁰⁵ the congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸ and that¹⁹³¹ man³⁷⁶ perished¹⁴⁷⁸ not³⁸⁰⁸ alone²⁵⁹ in his iniquity.⁵⁷⁷¹

21  Then the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ and the half²⁶⁷⁷ tribe⁷⁶²⁶ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ answered,⁶⁰³⁰ and said¹⁶⁹⁶ unto ⁸⁵³ the heads⁷²¹⁸ of the thousands⁵⁰⁵ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸

22  The LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴¹⁰ of gods,⁴³⁰ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴¹⁰ of gods,⁴³⁰ he¹⁹³¹ knoweth,³⁰⁴⁵ and Israel³⁴⁷⁸ he¹⁹³¹ shall know;³⁰⁴⁵ if⁵¹⁸ it be in rebellion,⁴⁷⁷⁷ or if⁵¹⁸ in transgression⁴⁶⁰⁴ against the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ (save³⁴⁶⁷ us not⁴⁰⁸ this²⁰⁸⁸ day,)³¹¹⁷

23  That we have built¹¹²⁹ us an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ to turn⁷⁷²⁵ from following^{4480 310} the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ or if⁵¹⁸ to offer⁵⁹²⁷ thereon⁵⁹²¹ burnt offering⁵⁹³⁰ or meat offering,⁴⁵⁰³ or if⁵¹⁸ to offer⁶²¹³ peace⁸⁰⁰² offerings²⁰⁷⁷ thereon,⁵⁹²¹ let the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ himself¹⁹³¹ require¹²⁴⁵ it;

24  And if⁵¹⁸ we have not³⁸⁰⁸ rather done^{6213 853} it²⁰⁶³ for fear^{4480 1674} of this thing,^{4480 1697} saying,⁵⁵⁹ In time to come⁴²⁷⁹ your children¹¹²¹ might speak⁵⁵⁹ unto our children,¹¹²¹ saying,⁵⁵⁹ What⁴¹⁰⁰ have ye to do with the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸

25  For the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ hath made^{5414 853} Jordan³³⁸³ a border¹³⁶⁶ between⁹⁹⁶ us and you, ye children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and children¹¹²¹ of Gad;¹⁴¹⁰ ye have no³⁶⁹ part²⁵⁰⁶ in the LORD:³⁰⁶⁸ so shall your children¹¹²¹ make ⁸⁵³ our children¹¹²¹ cease⁷⁶⁷³ from fearing^{3372 853} the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

26  Therefore we said,⁵⁵⁹ Let us now⁴⁹⁹⁴ prepare⁶²¹³ to build¹¹²⁹ us ⁸⁵³ an altar,⁴¹⁹⁶ not³⁸⁰⁸ for burnt⁵⁹³⁰ offering, nor³⁸⁰⁸ for sacrifice:²⁰⁷⁷

27  But³⁵⁸⁸ that it¹⁹³¹ may be a witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ between⁹⁹⁶ us, and you, and our generations¹⁷⁵⁵ after³¹⁰ us, that we might do^{5647 853} the service⁵⁶⁵⁶ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ him with our burnt offerings,⁵⁹³⁰ and with our sacrifices,²⁰⁷⁷ and with our peace offerings;⁸⁰⁰² that your children¹¹²¹ may not³⁸⁰⁸ say⁵⁵⁹ to our children¹¹²¹ in time to come,⁴²⁷⁹ Ye have no³⁶⁹ part²⁵⁰⁶ in the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

28  Therefore said⁵⁵⁹ we, that it shall be,¹⁹⁶¹ when³⁵⁸⁸ they should so say⁵⁵⁹ to⁴¹³ us or to⁴¹³ our generations¹⁷⁵⁵ in time to come,⁴²⁷⁹ that we may say⁵⁵⁹ again, Behold^{7200 853} the pattern⁸⁴⁰³ of the altar⁴¹⁹⁶ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ which⁸³⁴ our fathers¹ made,⁶²¹³ not³⁸⁰⁸ for burnt offerings,⁵⁹³⁰ nor³⁸⁰⁸ for sacrifices;²⁰⁷⁷ but³⁵⁸⁸ it¹⁹³¹ is a witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ between⁹⁹⁶ us and you.

29  God forbid²⁴⁸⁶ that we⁴⁴⁸⁰ should rebel⁴⁷⁷⁵ against the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ and turn⁷⁷²⁵ this day³¹¹⁷ from following^{4480 310} the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ to build¹¹²⁹ an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ for burnt offerings,⁵⁹³⁰ for meat offerings,⁴⁵⁰³ or for sacrifices,²⁰⁷⁷ beside^{4480 905} the altar⁴¹⁹⁶ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ our God⁴³⁰ that⁸³⁴ is before⁶⁴⁴⁰ his tabernacle.⁴⁹⁰⁸

30  And when Phinehas⁶³⁷² the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ and the princes⁵³⁸⁷ of the congregation⁵⁷¹² and heads⁷²¹⁸ of the thousands⁵⁰⁵ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ which⁸³⁴ were with⁸⁵⁴ him, heard^{8085 853} the words¹⁶⁹⁷ that⁸³⁴ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ and the children¹¹²¹ of Manasseh⁴⁵¹⁹ spoke,¹⁶⁹⁶ it pleased^{3190 5869} them.

31  And Phinehas⁶³⁷² the son¹¹²¹ of Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben,⁷²⁰⁵ and to⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Gad,¹⁴¹⁰ and to⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Manasseh,⁴⁵¹⁹ This day³¹¹⁷ we perceive³⁰⁴⁵ that³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ is among⁸⁴³² us, because⁸³⁴ ye have not³⁸⁰⁸ committed⁴⁶⁰³ this²⁰⁸⁸ trespass⁴⁶⁰⁴ against the LORD:³⁰⁶⁸ now²²⁷ ye have delivered^{5337 853} the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of the hand^{4480 3027} of the LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

32  And Phinehas⁶³⁷² the son¹¹²¹ of Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ the priest,³⁵⁴⁸ and the princes,⁵³⁸⁷ returned⁷⁷²⁵ from^{4480 854} the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben,⁷²⁰⁵ and from^{4480 854} the children¹¹²¹ of Gad,¹⁴¹⁰ out of the land^{4480 776} of Gilead,¹⁵⁶⁸ unto⁴¹³ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Canaan,³⁶⁶⁷ to⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and brought them word again.^{7725 853 1697}

33  And the thing¹⁶⁹⁷ pleased^{3190 5869} the children¹¹²¹ of Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ and the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ blessed¹²⁸⁸ God,⁴³⁰ and did not³⁸⁰⁸ intend⁵⁵⁹ to go up⁵⁹²⁷ against⁵⁹²¹ them in battle,⁶⁶³⁵ to destroy^{7843 853} the land⁷⁷⁶ wherein⁸³⁴ the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and Gad¹⁴¹⁰ dwelt.³⁴²⁷

34  And the children¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ and the children¹¹²¹ of Gad¹⁴¹⁰ called⁷¹²¹ the altar⁴¹⁹⁶ Ed: for³⁵⁸⁸ it¹⁹³¹ shall be a witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ between⁹⁹⁶ us that³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ is God.⁴³⁰

1 τότε συνεκάλεσεν Ἰησοῦς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ρουβην καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση

2 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς ἀκηκόατε πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου καὶ ἐπηκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν

3 οὐκ ἐγκαταλελοίπατε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ταύτας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ πλείους ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας ἐφυλάξασθε τὴν ἐντολὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν

4 νῦν δὲ κατέπαυσεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμῶν ὃν τρόπον εἶπεν αὐτοῖς νῦν οὖν ἀποστραφέντες ἀπέλθατε εἰς τοὺς οἴκους ὑμῶν καὶ εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως ὑμῶν ἣν ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου

5 ἀλλὰ φυλάξασθε ποιεῖν σφόδρα τὰς ἐντολὰς καὶ τὸν νόμον ὃν ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν ποιεῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου ἀγαπᾶν κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν πορεύεσθαι πάσαις ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ φυλάξασθαι τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ προσκεῖσθαι αὐτῷ καὶ λατρεύειν αὐτῷ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς διανοίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς ὑμῶν

6 καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτούς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν

7 καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση ἔδωκεν Μωυσῆς ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει ἔδωκεν Ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου παρὰ θάλασσαν καὶ ἡνίκα ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Ἰησοῦς εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτούς

8 καὶ ἐν χρήμασιν πολλοῖς ἀπήλθοσαν εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν καὶ κτήνη πολλὰ σφόδρα καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ σίδηρον καὶ ἱματισμὸν πολύν καὶ διείλαντο τὴν προνομὴν τῶν ἐχθρῶν μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν

9 καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς υἱῶν Μανασση ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐκ Σηλω ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς γὴν Γαλααδ εἰς γῆν κατασχέσεως αὐτῶν ἣν ἐκληρονόμησαν αὐτὴν διὰ προστάγματος κυρίου ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ

10 καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Γαλγαλα τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἥ ἐστιν ἐν γῇ Χανααν καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση ἐκεῖ βωμὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ Ιορδάνου βωμὸν μέγαν τοῦ ἰδεῖν

11 καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λεγόντων ἰδοὺ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση βωμὸν ἐφ᾽ ὁρίων γῆς Χανααν ἐπὶ τοῦ Γαλααδ τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν τῷ πέραν υἱῶν Ισραηλ

12 καὶ συνηθροίσθησαν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς Σηλω ὥστε ἀναβάντες ἐκπολεμῆσαι αὐτούς

13 καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ρουβην καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Γαδ καὶ πρὸς τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση εἰς γῆν Γαλααδ τόν τε Φινεες υἱὸν Ελεαζαρ υἱοῦ Ααρων τοῦ ἀρχιερέως

14 καὶ δέκα τῶν ἀρχόντων μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἄρχων εἷς ἀπὸ οἴκου πατριᾶς ἀπὸ πασῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ ἄρχοντες οἴκων πατριῶν εἰσιν χιλίαρχοι Ισραηλ

15 καὶ παρεγένοντο πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Γαδ καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ρουβην καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἡμίσεις φυλῆς Μανασση εἰς γῆν Γαλααδ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγοντες

16 τάδε λέγει πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ κυρίου τίς ἡ πλημμέλεια αὕτη ἣν ἐπλημμελήσατε ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ Ισραηλ ἀποστραφῆναι σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου οἰκοδομήσαντες ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς βωμὸν ἀποστάτας ὑμᾶς γενέσθαι ἀπὸ κυρίου

17 μὴ μικρὸν ἡμῖν τὸ ἁμάρτημα Φογωρ ὅτι οὐκ ἐκαθαρίσθημεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης καὶ ἐγενήθη πληγὴ ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ κυρίου

18 καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀποστραφήσεσθε σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἀποστῆτε σήμερον ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ αὔριον ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ ἔσται ἡ ὀργή

19 καὶ νῦν εἰ μικρὰ ὑμῖν ἡ γῆ τῆς κατασχέσεως ὑμῶν διάβητε εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως κυρίου οὗ κατασκηνοῖ ἐκεῖ ἡ σκηνὴ κυρίου καὶ κατακληρονομήσατε ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ μὴ ἀποστάται ἀπὸ θεοῦ γενήθητε καὶ μὴ ἀπόστητε ἀπὸ κυρίου διὰ τὸ οἰκοδομῆσαι ὑμᾶς βωμὸν ἔξω τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν

20 οὐκ ἰδοὺ Αχαρ ὁ τοῦ Ζαρα πλημμελείᾳ ἐπλημμέλησεν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀναθέματος καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν Ισραηλ ἐγενήθη ὀργή καὶ οὗτος εἷς μόνος ἦν μὴ μόνος οὗτος ἀπέθανεν τῇ ἑαυτοῦ ἁμαρτίᾳ

21 καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση καὶ ἐλάλησαν τοῖς χιλιάρχοις Ισραηλ λέγοντες

22 ὁ θεὸς θεός ἐστιν κύριος καὶ ὁ θεὸς θεὸς κύριος αὐτὸς οἶδεν καὶ Ισραηλ αὐτὸς γνώσεται εἰ ἐν ἀποστασίᾳ ἐπλημμελήσαμεν ἔναντι τοῦ κυρίου μὴ ῥύσαιτο ἡμᾶς ἐν ταύτῃ

23 καὶ εἰ ᾠκοδομήσαμεν αὑτοῖς βωμὸν ὥστε ἀποστῆναι ἀπὸ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ὥστε ἀναβιβάσαι ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν θυσίαν ὁλοκαυτωμάτων ἢ ὥστε ποιῆσαι ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ θυσίαν σωτηρίου κύριος ἐκζητήσει

24 ἀλλ᾽ ἕνεκεν εὐλαβείας ῥήματος ἐποιήσαμεν τοῦτο λέγοντες ἵνα μὴ εἴπωσιν αὔριον τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν τοῖς τέκνοις ἡμῶν τί ὑμῖν κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ Ισραηλ

25 καὶ ὅρια ἔθηκεν κύριος ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν καὶ ὑμῶν τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὑμῖν μερὶς κυρίου καὶ ἀπαλλοτριώσουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν τοὺς υἱοὺς ἡμῶν ἵνα μὴ σέβωνται κύριον

26 καὶ εἴπαμεν ποιῆσαι οὕτως τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι τὸν βωμὸν τοῦτον οὐχ ἕνεκεν καρπωμάτων οὐδὲ ἕνεκεν θυσιῶν

27 ἀλλ᾽ ἵνα ᾖ τοῦτο μαρτύριον ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν καὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν γενεῶν ἡμῶν μεθ᾽ ἡμᾶς τοῦ λατρεύειν λατρείαν κυρίῳ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς καρπώμασιν ἡμῶν καὶ ἐν ταῖς θυσίαις ἡμῶν καὶ ἐν ταῖς θυσίαις τῶν σωτηρίων ἡμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐροῦσιν τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν τοῖς τέκνοις ἡμῶν αὔριον οὐκ ἔστιν ὑμῖν μερὶς κυρίου

28 καὶ εἴπαμεν ἐὰν γένηταί ποτε καὶ λαλήσωσιν πρὸς ἡμᾶς καὶ ταῖς γενεαῖς ἡμῶν αὔριον καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἴδετε ὁμοίωμα τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου ὃ ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν οὐχ ἕνεκεν καρπωμάτων οὐδὲ ἕνεκεν θυσιῶν ἀλλὰ μαρτύριόν ἐστιν ἀνὰ μέσον ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἡμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν υἱῶν ἡμῶν

29 μὴ γένοιτο οὖν ἡμᾶς ἀποστραφῆναι ἀπὸ κυρίου ἐν ταῖς σήμερον ἡμέραις ἀποστῆναι ἀπὸ κυρίου ὥστε οἰκοδομῆσαι ἡμᾶς θυσιαστήριον τοῖς καρπώμασιν καὶ ταῖς θυσίαις σαλαμιν καὶ τῇ θυσίᾳ τοῦ σωτηρίου πλὴν τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου ὅ ἐστιν ἐναντίον τῆς σκηνῆς αὐτοῦ

30 καὶ ἀκούσας Φινεες ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς συναγωγῆς Ισραηλ οἳ ἦσαν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἐλάλησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ φυλῆς Μανασση καὶ ἤρεσεν αὐτοῖς

31 καὶ εἶπεν Φινεες ὁ ἱερεὺς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση σήμερον ἐγνώκαμεν ὅτι μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν κύριος διότι οὐκ ἐπλημμελήσατε ἐναντίον κυρίου πλημμέλειαν καὶ ὅτι ἐρρύσασθε τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ ἐκ χειρὸς κυρίου

32 καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Φινεες ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ρουβην καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Γαδ καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση ἐκ γῆς Γαλααδ εἰς γῆν Χανααν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτοῖς τοὺς λόγους

33 καὶ ἤρεσεν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ εὐλόγησαν τὸν θεὸν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπαν μηκέτι ἀναβῆναι πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἰς πόλεμον ἐξολεθρεῦσαι τὴν γῆν τῶν υἱῶν Ρουβην καὶ τῶν υἱῶν Γαδ καὶ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς

34 καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν Ἰησοῦς τὸν βωμὸν τῶν Ρουβην καὶ τῶν Γαδ καὶ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι μαρτύριόν ἐστιν ἀνὰ μέσον αὐτῶν ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶν ἐστιν

‎1 ‏אָ֚ז יִקְרָ֣א יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ לָרֽאוּבֵנִ֖י וְלַגָּדִ֑י וְלַחֲצִ֖י מַטֵּ֥ה מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

‎2 ‏וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אַתֶּ֣ם שְׁמַרְתֶּ֔ם אֵ֚ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֣בֶד יְהוָ֑ה וַתִּשְׁמְע֣וּ בְקוֹלִ֔י לְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוִּ֖יתִי אֶתְכֶֽם׃

‎3 ‏לֹֽא־עֲזַבְתֶּ֣ם אֶת־אֲחֵיכֶ֗ם זֶ֚ה יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֕ם אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֕רֶת מִצְוַ֖ת יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

‎4 ‏וְעַתָּ֗ה הֵנִ֨יחַ יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ לַֽאֲחֵיכֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם וְעַתָּ֡ה פְּנוּ֩ וּלְכ֨וּ לָכֶ֜ם לְאָהֳלֵיכֶ֗ם אֶל־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֗ם מֹשֶׁה֙ עֶ֣בֶד יְהוָ֔ה בְּעֵ֖בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃

‎5 ‏רַ֣ק׀ שִׁמְר֣וּ מְאֹ֗ד לַעֲשׂ֨וֹת אֶת־הַמִּצְוָ֣ה וְאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֣ה אֶתְכֶם֮ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עֶֽבֶד־יְהוָה֒ לְ֠אַהֲבָה אֶת־יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֜ם וְלָלֶ֧כֶת בְּכָל־דְּרָכָ֛יו וְלִשְׁמֹ֥ר מִצְוֹתָ֖יו וּלְדָבְקָה־ב֑וֹ וּלְעָבְד֕וֹ בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶ֖ם וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁכֶֽם׃

‎6 ‏וַֽיְבָרְכֵ֖ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ אֶל־אָהֳלֵיהֶֽם׃ ס

‎7 ‏וְלַחֲצִ֣י׀ שֵׁ֣בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֗ה נָתַ֣ן מֹשֶׁה֮ בַּבָּשָׁן֒ וּלְחֶצְי֗וֹ נָתַ֤ן יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ עִם־אֲחֵיהֶ֔ם מעבר בְּעֵ֥בֶר^a הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן יָ֑מָּה וְ֠גַם כִּ֣י שִׁלְּחָ֧ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ אֶל־אָהֳלֵיהֶ֖ם וַיְבָרֲכֵֽם׃

‎8 ‏וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר בִּנְכָסִ֨ים רַבִּ֜ים שׁ֤וּבוּ אֶל־אָֽהֳלֵיכֶם֙ וּבְמִקְנֶ֣ה רַב־מְאֹ֔ד בְּכֶ֨סֶף וּבְזָהָ֜ב וּבִנְחֹ֧שֶׁת וּבְבַרְזֶ֛ל וּבִשְׂלָמ֖וֹת הַרְבֵּ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד חִלְק֥וּ שְׁלַל־אֹיְבֵיכֶ֖ם עִם־אֲחֵיכֶֽם׃ פ

‎9 ‏וַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּ וַיֵּלְכ֡וּ בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֨ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֜ד וַחֲצִ֣י׀ שֵׁ֣בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֗ה מֵאֵת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִשִּׁלֹ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאֶֽרֶץ־כְּנָ֑עַן לָלֶ֜כֶת אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַגִּלְעָ֗ד אֶל־אֶ֤רֶץ אֲחֻזָּתָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נֹֽאחֲזוּ־בָ֔הּ עַל־פִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

‎10 ‏וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אֶל־גְּלִיל֣וֹת הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וַיִּבְנ֣וּ בְנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֣ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֡ד וַחֲצִ֣י שֵׁבֶט֩ הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֨ה שָׁ֤ם מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ עַל־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן מִזְבֵּ֥חַ גָּד֖וֹל לְמַרְאֶֽה׃

‎11 ‏וַיִּשְׁמְע֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר הִנֵּ֣ה בָנ֣וּ בְנֵֽי־רְאוּבֵ֣ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֡ד וַחֲצִי֩ שֵׁ֨בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֜ה אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ אֶל־מוּל֙ אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן אֶל־גְּלִילוֹת֙ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן אֶל־עֵ֖בֶר בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎12 ‏וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּקָּ֨הֲל֜וּ כָּל־עֲדַ֤ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ שִׁלֹ֔ה לַעֲל֥וֹת עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם לַצָּבָֽא׃ פ

‎13 ‏וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֧ן וְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָ֛ד וְאֶל־חֲצִ֥י שֵֽׁבֶט־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַגִּלְעָ֑ד אֶת־פִּינְחָ֖ס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֥ר הַכֹּהֵֽן׃

‎14 ‏וַעֲשָׂרָ֤ה נְשִׂאִים֙ עִמּ֔וֹ נָשִׂ֨יא אֶחָ֜ד נָשִׂ֤יא אֶחָד֙ לְבֵ֣ית אָ֔ב לְכֹ֖ל מַטּ֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְאִ֨ישׁ רֹ֧אשׁ בֵּית־אֲבוֹתָ֛ם הֵ֖מָּה לְאַלְפֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎15 ‏וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ אֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֧ן וְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָ֛ד וְאֶל־חֲצִ֥י שֵֽׁבֶט־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַגִּלְעָ֑ד וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ אִתָּ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃

‎16 ‏כֹּ֣ה אָמְר֞וּ כֹּ֣ל׀ עֲדַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה מָֽה־הַמַּ֤עַל הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר מְעַלְתֶּם֙ בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לָשׁ֣וּב הַיּ֔וֹם מֵאַחֲרֵ֖י יְהוָ֑ה בִּבְנֽוֹתְכֶ֤ם לָכֶם֙ מִזְבֵּ֔חַ לִמְרָדְכֶ֥ם הַיּ֖וֹם בַּיהוָֽה׃

‎17 ‏הַמְעַט־לָ֙נוּ֙ אֶת־עֲוֹ֣ן פְּע֔וֹר אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־הִטַּהַ֙רְנוּ֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וַיְהִ֥י הַנֶּ֖גֶף בַּעֲדַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

‎18 ‏וְאַתֶּם֙ תָּשֻׁ֣בוּ הַיּ֔וֹם מֵאַחֲרֵ֖י יְהוָ֑ה וְהָיָ֗ה אַתֶּ֞ם תִּמְרְד֤וּ הַיּוֹם֙ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה וּמָחָ֕ר אֶֽל־כָּל־עֲדַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִקְצֹֽף׃

‎19 ‏וְאַ֨ךְ אִם־טְמֵאָ֜ה אֶ֣רֶץ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶ֗ם עִבְר֨וּ לָכֶ֜ם אֶל־אֶ֨רֶץ אֲחֻזַּ֤ת יְהוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר שָֽׁכַן־שָׁם֙ מִשְׁכַּ֣ן יְהוָ֔ה וְהֵאָחֲז֖וּ בְּתוֹכֵ֑נוּ וּבַֽיהוָ֣ה אַל־תִּמְרֹ֗דוּ וְאֹתָ֙נוּ֙ אֶל־תִּמְרֹ֔דוּ בִּבְנֹֽתְכֶ֤ם לָכֶם֙ מִזְבֵּ֔חַ מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֔י מִזְבַּ֖ח יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

‎20 ‏הֲל֣וֹא׀ עָכָ֣ן בֶּן־זֶ֗רַח מָ֤עַל מַ֙עַל֙ בַּחֵ֔רֶם וְעַֽל־כָּל־עֲדַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הָ֣יָה קָ֑צֶף וְהוּא֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶחָ֔ד לֹ֥א גָוַ֖ע בַּעֲוֹנֽוֹ׃ פ

‎21 ‏וַֽיַּעֲנוּ֙ בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֣ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֔ד וַחֲצִ֖י שֵׁ֣בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַֽיְדַבְּר֔וּ אֶת־רָאשֵׁ֖י אַלְפֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎22 ‏אֵל֩׀ אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ יְהוָ֜ה אֵ֣ל׀ אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ יְהוָה֙ ה֣וּא יֹדֵ֔עַ וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל ה֣וּא יֵדָ֑ע אִם־בְּמֶ֤רֶד וְאִם־בְּמַ֙עַל֙ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה אַל־תּוֹשִׁיעֵ֖נוּ הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

‎23 ‏לִבְנ֥וֹת לָ֙נוּ֙ מִזְבֵּ֔חַ לָשׁ֖וּב מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְאִם־לְהַעֲל֨וֹת עָלָ֜יו עוֹלָ֣ה וּמִנְחָ֗ה וְאִם־לַעֲשׂ֤וֹת עָלָיו֙ זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֔ים יְהוָ֖ה ה֥וּא יְבַקֵּֽשׁ׃

‎24 ‏וְאִם־לֹ֤א מִדְּאָגָה֙ מִדָּבָ֔ר עָשִׂ֥ינוּ אֶת־זֹ֖את לֵאמֹ֑ר מָחָ֗ר יֹאמְר֨וּ בְנֵיכֶ֤ם לְבָנֵ֙ינוּ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מַה־לָּכֶ֕ם וְלַֽיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎25 ‏וּגְב֣וּל נָֽתַן־יְ֠הוָה בֵּינֵ֨נוּ וּבֵינֵיכֶ֜ם בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֤ן וּבְנֵי־גָד֙ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן אֵין־לָכֶ֥ם חֵ֖לֶק בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וְהִשְׁבִּ֤יתוּ בְנֵיכֶם֙ אֶת־בָּנֵ֔ינוּ לְבִלְתִּ֖י יְרֹ֥א אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃

‎26 ‏וַנֹּ֕אמֶר נַעֲשֶׂה־נָּ֣א לָ֔נוּ לִבְנ֖וֹת אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ לֹ֥א לְעוֹלָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א לְזָֽבַח׃

‎27 ‏כִּי֩ עֵ֨ד ה֜וּא בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ וּבֵינֵיכֶ֗ם וּבֵ֣ין דֹּרוֹתֵינוּ֮ אַחֲרֵינוּ֒ לַעֲבֹ֞ד אֶת־עֲבֹדַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ לְפָנָ֔יו בְּעֹלוֹתֵ֥ינוּ וּבִזְבָחֵ֖ינוּ וּבִשְׁלָמֵ֑ינוּ וְלֹא־יֹאמְר֨וּ בְנֵיכֶ֤ם מָחָר֙ לְבָנֵ֔ינוּ אֵין־לָכֶ֥ם חֵ֖לֶק בַּיהוָֽה׃

‎28 ‏וַנֹּ֕אמֶר וְהָיָ֗ה כִּֽי־יֹאמְר֥וּ אֵלֵ֛ינוּ וְאֶל־דֹּרֹתֵ֖ינוּ מָחָ֑ר וְאָמַ֡רְנוּ רְא֣וּ אֶת־תַּבְנִית֩ מִזְבַּ֨ח יְהוָ֜ה אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֣וּ אֲבוֹתֵ֗ינוּ לֹ֤א לְעוֹלָה֙ וְלֹ֣א לְזֶ֔בַח כִּי־עֵ֣ד ה֔וּא בֵּינֵ֖ינוּ וּבֵינֵיכֶֽם׃

‎29 ‏חָלִילָה֩ לָּ֨נוּ מִמֶּ֜נּוּ לִמְרֹ֣ד בַּֽיהוָ֗ה וְלָשׁ֤וּב הַיּוֹם֙ מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לִבְנ֣וֹת מִזְבֵּ֔חַ לְעֹלָ֖ה לְמִנְחָ֣ה וּלְזָ֑בַח מִלְּבַ֗ד מִזְבַּח֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ אֲשֶׁ֖ר לִפְנֵ֥י מִשְׁכָּנֽוֹ׃ פ

‎30 ‏וַיִּשְׁמַ֞ע פִּֽינְחָ֣ס הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וּנְשִׂיאֵ֨י הָעֵדָ֜ה וְרָאשֵׁ֨י אַלְפֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֔וֹ אֶת־הַ֨דְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר דִּבְּר֛וּ בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֥ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֖ד וּבְנֵ֣י מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַיִּיטַ֖ב בְּעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃

‎31 ‏וַיֹּ֣אמֶר פִּֽינְחָ֣ס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֡ן אֶל־בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֨ן וְאֶל־בְּנֵי־גָ֜ד וְאֶל־בְּנֵ֣י מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה הַיּ֤וֹם׀ יָדַ֙עְנוּ֙ כִּֽי־בְתוֹכֵ֣נוּ יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹֽא־מְעַלְתֶּ֥ם בַּֽיהוָ֖ה הַמַּ֣עַל הַזֶּ֑ה אָ֗ז הִצַּלְתֶּ֛ם אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מִיַּ֥ד יְהוָֽה׃

‎32 ‏וַיָּ֣שָׁב פִּֽינְחָ֣ס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֣ן׀ וְהַנְּשִׂיאִ֡ים מֵאֵ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־רְאוּבֵן֩ וּמֵאֵ֨ת בְּנֵי־גָ֜ד מֵאֶ֧רֶץ הַגִּלְעָ֛ד אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ כְּנַ֖עַן אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּשִׁ֥בוּ אוֹתָ֖ם דָּבָֽר׃

‎33 ‏וַיִּיטַ֣ב הַדָּבָ֗ר בְּעֵינֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיְבָרֲכ֥וּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹ֣א אָמְר֗וּ לַעֲל֤וֹת עֲלֵיהֶם֙ לַצָּבָ֔א לְשַׁחֵת֙ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֛ר בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֥ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֖ד יֹשְׁבִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃

‎34 ‏וַֽיִּקְרְא֛וּ בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵ֥ן וּבְנֵי־גָ֖ד לַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ כִּ֣י עֵ֥ד הוּא֙ בֵּֽינֹתֵ֔ינוּ כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ פ

1 Eodem tempore vocavit Josue Rubenitas, et Gaditas, et dimidiam tribum Manasse,

2 dixitque ad eos: Fecistis omnia quæ præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini: mihi quoque in omnibus obedistis,

3 nec reliquistis fratres vestros longo tempore, usque in præsentem diem, custodientes imperium Domini Dei vestri.

4 Quia igitur dedit Dominus Deus vester fratribus vestris quietem et pacem, sicut pollicitus est: revertimini, et ite in tabernacula vestra, et in terram possessionis, quam tradidit vobis Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem:

5 ita dumtaxat ut custodiatis attente, et opere compleatis mandatum et legem quam præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini, ut diligatis Dominum Deum vestrum, et ambuletis in omnibus viis ejus, et observetis mandata illius, adhæreatisque ei, ac serviatis in omni corde, et in omni anima vestra.

6 Benedixitque eis Josue, et dimisit eos. Qui reversi sunt in tabernacula sua.

7 Dimidiæ autem tribui Manasse possessionem Moyses dederat in Basan: et idcirco mediæ, quæ superfuit, dedit Josue sortem inter ceteros fratres suos trans Jordanem ad occidentalem plagam. Cumque dimitteret eos in tabernacula sua, et benedixisset eis,

8 dixit ad eos: In multa substantia atque divitiis revertimini ad sedes vestras, cum argento et auro, ære ac ferro, et veste multiplici: dividite prædam hostium cum fratribus vestris.

9 Reversique sunt, et abierunt filii Ruben, et filii Gad, et dimidia tribus Manasse, a filiis Israël de Silo, quæ sita est in Chanaan, ut intrarent Galaad terram possessionis suæ, quam obtinuerant juxta imperium Domini in manu Moysi.

10 Cumque venissent ad tumulos Jordanis in terram Chanaan, ædificaverunt juxta Jordanem altare infinitæ magnitudinis.

11 Quod cum audissent filii Israël, et ad eos certi nuntii detulissent, ædificasse filios Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiæ tribus Manasse, altare in terra Chanaan, super Jordanis tumulos, contra filios Israël:

12 convenerunt omnes in Silo, ut ascenderent, et dimicarent contra eos.

13 Et interim miserunt ad illos in terram Galaad Phinees filium Eleazari sacerdotis,

14 et decem principes cum eo, singulos de singulis tribubus.

15 Qui venerunt ad filios Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiæ tribus Manasse in terram Galaad, dixeruntque ad eos:

16 Hæc mandat omnis populus Domini: Quæ est ista transgressio? cur reliquistis Dominum Deum Israël, ædificantes altare sacrilegum, et a cultu illius recedentes?

17 an parum vobis est quod peccastis in Beelphegor, et usque in præsentem diem macula hujus sceleris in nobis permanet, multique de populo corruerunt?

18 Et vos hodie reliquistis Dominum, et cras in universum Israël ira ejus desæviet.

19 Quod si putatis immundam esse terram possessionis vestræ, transite ad terram, in qua tabernaculum Domini est, et habitate inter nos: tantum ut a Domino et a nostro consortio non recedatis, ædificato altari præter altare Domini Dei nostri.

20 Nonne Achan filius Zare præteriit mandatum Domini, et super omnem populum Israël ira ejus incubuit? et ille erat unus homo, atque utinam solum periisset in scelere suo.

21 Responderuntque filii Ruben et Gad, et dimidia tribus Manasse, principibus legationis Israël:

22 Fortissimus Deus Dominus, fortissimus Deus Dominus, ipse novit, et Israël simul intelliget: si prævaricationis animo hoc altare construximus, non custodiat nos, sed puniat nos in præsenti:

23 et si ea mente fecimus ut holocausta, et sacrificium, et pacificas victimas super eo imponeremus, ipse quærat et judicet:

24 et non ea magis cogitatione atque tractatu, ut diceremus: Cras dicent filii vestri filiis nostris: Quid vobis et Domino Deo Israël?

25 terminum posuit Dominus inter nos et vos, o filii Ruben, et filii Gad, Jordanem fluvium, et idcirco partem non habetis in Domino: et per hanc occasionem avertent filii vestri filios nostros a timore Domini. Putavimus itaque melius,

26 et diximus: Exstruamus nobis altare, non in holocausta, neque ad victimas offerendas,

27 sed in testimonium inter nos et vos, et sobolem nostram vestramque progeniem, ut serviamus Domino, et juris nostri sit offerre et holocausta, et victimas, et pacificas hostias: et nequaquam dicant cras filii vestri filiis nostris: Non est vobis pars in Domino.

28 Quod si voluerint dicere, respondebunt eis: Ecce altare Domini, quod fecerunt patres nostri, non in holocausta, neque in sacrificium, sed in testimonium nostrum ac vestrum.

29 Absit a nobis hoc scelus, ut recedamus a Domino, et ejus vestigia relinquamus, exstructo altari ad holocausta, et sacrificia, et victimas offerendas, præter altare Domini Dei nostri, quod exstructum est ante tabernaculum ejus.

30 Quibus auditis, Phinees sacerdos, et principes legationis Israël, qui erant cum eo, placati sunt: et verba filiorum Ruben, et Gad, et dimidiæ tribus Manasse, libentissime susceperunt.

31 Dixtque Phinees filius Eleazari sacerdos ad eos: Nunc scimus quod nobiscum sit Dominus, quoniam alieni estis a prævaricatione hac, et liberastis filios Israël de manu Domini.

32 Reversusque est cum principibus a filiis Ruben et Gad de terra Galaad, finium Chanaan, ad filios Israël, et retulit eis.

33 Placuitque sermo cunctis audientibus. Et laudaverunt Deum filii Israël, et nequaquam ultra dixerunt, ut ascenderent contra eos, atque pugnarent, et delerent terram possessionis eorum.

34 Vocaveruntque filii Ruben, et filii Gad, altare quod exstruxerant, Testimonium nostrum, quod Dominus ipse sit Deus.
