1  Then the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ came¹⁹⁶¹ to⁴¹³ Jehu³⁰⁵⁸ the son¹¹²¹ of Hanani²⁶⁰⁷ against⁵⁹²¹ Baasha,¹²⁰¹ saying,⁵⁵⁹

2  Forasmuch^{3282 834} as I exalted⁷³¹¹ thee out of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the dust,⁶⁰⁸³ and made⁵⁴¹⁴ thee prince⁵⁰⁵⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ my people⁵⁹⁷¹ Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ and thou hast walked¹⁹⁸⁰ in the way¹⁸⁷⁰ of Jeroboam,³³⁷⁹ and hast made ⁸⁵³ my people⁵⁹⁷¹ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ to sin,²³⁹⁸ to provoke me to anger³⁷⁰⁷ with their sins;²⁴⁰³

3  Behold,²⁰⁰⁹ I will take away¹¹⁹⁷ the posterity³¹⁰ of Baasha,¹²⁰¹ and the posterity³¹⁰ of his house;¹⁰⁰⁴ and will make^{5414 853} thy house¹⁰⁰⁴ like the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Jeroboam³³⁷⁹ the son¹¹²¹ of Nebat.⁵⁰²⁸

4  Him that dieth⁴¹⁹¹ of Baasha¹²⁰¹ in the city⁵⁸⁹² shall the dogs³⁶¹¹ eat;³⁹⁸ and him that dieth⁴¹⁹¹ of his in the fields⁷⁷⁰⁴ shall the fowls⁵⁷⁷⁵ of the air⁸⁰⁶⁴ eat.³⁹⁸

5  Now the rest³⁴⁹⁹ of the acts¹⁶⁹⁷ of Baasha,¹²⁰¹ and what⁸³⁴ he did,⁶²¹³ and his might,¹³⁶⁹ are they¹⁹⁹² not³⁸⁰⁸ written³⁷⁸⁹ in⁵⁹²¹ the book⁵⁶¹² of the chronicles^{1697 3117} of the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸

6  So Baasha¹²⁰¹ slept⁷⁹⁰¹ with⁵⁹⁷³ his fathers,¹ and was buried⁶⁹¹² in Tirzah:⁸⁶⁵⁶ and Elah⁴²⁵ his son¹¹²¹ reigned⁴⁴²⁷ in his stead.⁸⁴⁷⁸

7  And also¹⁵⁷¹ by the hand³⁰²⁷ of the prophet⁵⁰³⁰ Jehu³⁰⁵⁸ the son¹¹²¹ of Hanani²⁶⁰⁷ came¹⁹⁶¹ the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ against⁴¹³ Baasha,¹²⁰¹ and against⁴¹³ his house,¹⁰⁰⁴ even for⁵⁹²¹ all³⁶⁰⁵ the evil⁷⁴⁵¹ that⁸³⁴ he did⁶²¹³ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ in provoking him to anger³⁷⁰⁷ with the work⁴⁶³⁹ of his hands,³⁰²⁷ in being¹⁹⁶¹ like the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Jeroboam;³³⁷⁹ and because^{5921 834} he killed⁵²²¹ him.

8  In the twenty⁶²⁴² and sixth⁸³³⁷ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Asa⁶⁰⁹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Judah³⁰⁶³ began Elah⁴²⁵ the son¹¹²¹ of Baasha¹²⁰¹ to reign⁴⁴²⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ in Tirzah,⁸⁶⁵⁶ two years.⁸¹⁴¹

9  And his servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ Zimri,²¹⁷⁴ captain⁸²⁶⁹ of half⁴²⁷⁶ his chariots,⁷³⁹³ conspired⁷¹⁹⁴ against⁵⁹²¹ him, as he¹⁹³¹ was in Tirzah,⁸⁶⁵⁶ drinking⁸³⁵⁴ himself drunk⁷⁹¹⁰ in the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Arza⁷⁷⁷ steward⁵⁹²¹ of his house¹⁰⁰⁴ in Tirzah.⁸⁶⁵⁶

10  And Zimri²¹⁷⁴ went in⁹³⁵ and smote⁵²²¹ him, and killed⁴¹⁹¹ him, in the twenty⁶²⁴² and seventh⁷⁶⁵¹ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Asa⁶⁰⁹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Judah,³⁰⁶³ and reigned⁴⁴²⁷ in his stead.⁸⁴⁷⁸

11  And it came to pass,¹⁹⁶¹ when he began to reign,⁴⁴²⁷ as soon as he sat³⁴²⁷ on⁵⁹²¹ his throne,³⁶⁷⁸ that he slew^{5221 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Baasha:¹²⁰¹ he left⁷⁶⁰⁴ him not³⁸⁰⁸ one that pisseth⁸³⁶⁶ against a wall,⁷⁰²³ neither of his kinsfolk,¹³⁵⁰ nor of his friends.⁷⁴⁵³

12  Thus did Zimri²¹⁷⁴ destroy^{8045 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Baasha,¹²⁰¹ according to the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ which⁸³⁴ he spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ against⁴¹³ Baasha¹²⁰¹ by³⁰²⁷ Jehu³⁰⁵⁸ the prophet,⁵⁰³⁰

13  For⁴¹³ all³⁶⁰⁵ the sins²⁴⁰³ of Baasha,¹²⁰¹ and the sins²⁴⁰³ of Elah⁴²⁵ his son,¹¹²¹ by which⁸³⁴ they sinned,²³⁹⁸ and by which⁸³⁴ they made Israel to sin,^{2398 853 3478} in provoking^{3707 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ to anger with their vanities.¹⁸⁹²

14  Now the rest³⁴⁹⁹ of the acts¹⁶⁹⁷ of Elah,⁴²⁵ and all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ he did,⁶²¹³ are they¹⁹⁹² not³⁸⁰⁸ written³⁷⁸⁹ in⁵⁹²¹ the book⁵⁶¹² of the chronicles^{1697 3117} of the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸

15  In the twenty⁶²⁴² and seventh⁷⁶⁵¹ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Asa⁶⁰⁹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Judah³⁰⁶³ did Zimri²¹⁷⁴ reign⁴⁴²⁷ seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days³¹¹⁷ in Tirzah.⁸⁶⁵⁶ And the people⁵⁹⁷¹ were encamped²⁵⁸³ against⁵⁹²¹ Gibbethon,¹⁴⁰⁵ which⁸³⁴ belonged to the Philistines.⁶⁴³⁰

16  And the people⁵⁹⁷¹ that were encamped²⁵⁸³ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ say,⁵⁵⁹ Zimri²¹⁷⁴ hath conspired,⁷¹⁹⁴ and hath also¹⁵⁷¹ slain^{5221 853} the king:⁴⁴²⁸ wherefore all³⁶⁰⁵ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ made ⁸⁵³ Omri,⁶⁰¹⁸ the captain⁸²⁶⁹ of the host,⁶⁶³⁵ king⁴⁴²⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ that¹⁹³¹ day³¹¹⁷ in the camp.⁴²⁶⁴

17  And Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ went up⁵⁹²⁷ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ Gibbethon,¹⁴⁰⁵ and all³⁶⁰⁵ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ with⁵⁹⁷³ him, and they besieged^{6696 5921} Tirzah.⁸⁶⁵⁶

18  And it came to pass,¹⁹⁶¹ when Zimri²¹⁷⁴ saw⁷²⁰⁰ that³⁵⁸⁸ the city⁵⁸⁹² was taken,³⁹²⁰ that he went⁹³⁵ into⁴¹³ the palace⁷⁵⁹ of the king's⁴⁴²⁸ house,¹⁰⁰⁴ and burnt^{8313 853} the king's⁴⁴²⁸ house¹⁰⁰⁴ over⁵⁹²¹ him with fire,⁷⁸⁴ and died,⁴¹⁹¹

19  For⁵⁹²¹ his sins²⁴⁰³ which⁸³⁴ he sinned²³⁹⁸ in doing⁶²¹³ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ in walking¹⁹⁸⁰ in the way¹⁸⁷⁰ of Jeroboam,³³⁷⁹ and in his sin²⁴⁰³ which⁸³⁴ he did,⁶²¹³ to make Israel to sin.^{2398 853 3478}

20  Now the rest³⁴⁹⁹ of the acts¹⁶⁹⁷ of Zimri,²¹⁷⁴ and his treason⁷¹⁹⁵ that⁸³⁴ he wrought,⁷¹⁹⁴ are they¹⁹⁹² not³⁸⁰⁸ written³⁷⁸⁹ in⁵⁹²¹ the book⁵⁶¹² of the chronicles^{1697 3117} of the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸

21  Then²²⁷ were the people⁵⁹⁷¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ divided²⁵⁰⁵ into two parts:²⁶⁷⁷ half²⁶⁷⁷ of the people⁵⁹⁷¹ followed^{1961 310} Tibni⁸⁴⁰² the son¹¹²¹ of Ginath,¹⁵²⁷ to make him king;⁴⁴²⁷ and half²⁶⁷⁷ followed³¹⁰ Omri.⁶⁰¹⁸

22  But the people⁵⁹⁷¹ that⁸³⁴ followed³¹⁰ Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ prevailed against^{2388 853} the people⁵⁹⁷¹ that⁸³⁴ followed³¹⁰ Tibni⁸⁴⁰² the son¹¹²¹ of Ginath:¹⁵²⁷ so Tibni⁸⁴⁰² died,⁴¹⁹¹ and Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ reigned.⁴⁴²⁷

23  In the thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and first²⁵⁹ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Asa⁶⁰⁹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Judah³⁰⁶³ began Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ to reign⁴⁴²⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ twelve^{8147 6240} years:⁸¹⁴¹ six⁸³³⁷ years⁸¹⁴¹ reigned⁴⁴²⁷ he in Tirzah.⁸⁶⁵⁶

24  And he bought^{7069 853} the hill²⁰²² Samaria⁸¹¹¹ of^{4480 854} Shemer⁸¹⁰⁶ for two talents³⁶⁰³ of silver,³⁷⁰¹ and built on^{1129 853} the hill,²⁰²² and called^{7121 853} the name⁸⁰³⁴ of the city⁵⁸⁹² which⁸³⁴ he built,¹¹²⁹ after⁵⁹²¹ the name⁸⁰³⁴ of Shemer,⁸¹⁰⁶ owner¹¹³ of the hill,²⁰²² Samaria.⁸¹¹¹

25  But Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ wrought⁶²¹³ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ in the eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ and did worse⁷⁴⁸⁹ than all^{4480 3605} that⁸³⁴ were before⁶⁴⁴⁰ him.

26  For he walked¹⁹⁸⁰ in all³⁶⁰⁵ the way¹⁸⁷⁰ of Jeroboam³³⁷⁹ the son¹¹²¹ of Nebat,⁵⁰²⁸ and in his sin²⁴⁰³ wherewith⁸³⁴ he made Israel to sin,^{2398 853 3478} to provoke^{3707 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ to anger with their vanities.¹⁸⁹²

27  Now the rest³⁴⁹⁹ of the acts¹⁶⁹⁷ of Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ which⁸³⁴ he did,⁶²¹³ and his might¹³⁶⁹ that⁸³⁴ he showed,⁶²¹³ are they¹⁹⁹² not³⁸⁰⁸ written³⁷⁸⁹ in⁵⁹²¹ the book⁵⁶¹² of the chronicles^{1697 3117} of the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Israel?³⁴⁷⁸

28  So Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ slept⁷⁹⁰¹ with⁵⁹⁷³ his fathers,¹ and was buried⁶⁹¹² in Samaria:⁸¹¹¹ and Ahab²⁵⁶ his son¹¹²¹ reigned⁴⁴²⁷ in his stead.⁸⁴⁷⁸

29  And in the thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and eighth⁸⁰⁸³ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Asa⁶⁰⁹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Judah³⁰⁶³ began Ahab²⁵⁶ the son¹¹²¹ of Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ to reign⁴⁴²⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ Israel:³⁴⁷⁸ and Ahab²⁵⁶ the son¹¹²¹ of Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ reigned⁴⁴²⁷ over⁵⁹²¹ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ in Samaria⁸¹¹¹ twenty⁶²⁴² and two⁸¹⁴⁷ years.⁸¹⁴¹

30  And Ahab²⁵⁶ the son¹¹²¹ of Omri⁶⁰¹⁸ did⁶²¹³ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ above all^{4480 3605} that⁸³⁴ were before⁶⁴⁴⁰ him.

31  And it came to pass,¹⁹⁶¹ as if it had been a light thing⁷⁰⁴³ for him to walk¹⁹⁸⁰ in the sins²⁴⁰³ of Jeroboam³³⁷⁹ the son¹¹²¹ of Nebat,⁵⁰²⁸ that he took³⁹⁴⁷ to wife^{802 853} Jezebel³⁴⁸ the daughter¹³²³ of Ethbaal⁸⁵⁶ king⁴⁴²⁸ of the Zidonians,⁶⁷²² and went¹⁹⁸⁰ and served^{5647 853} Baal,¹¹⁶⁸ and worshiped⁷⁸¹² him.

32  And he reared up⁶⁹⁶⁵ an altar⁴¹⁹⁶ for Baal¹¹⁶⁸ in the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Baal,¹¹⁶⁸ which⁸³⁴ he had built¹¹²⁹ in Samaria.⁸¹¹¹

33  And Ahab²⁵⁶ made^{6213 853} a grove;⁸⁴² and Ahab²⁵⁶ did⁶²¹³ more³²⁵⁴ to provoke^{3707 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ to anger than all^{4480 3605} the kings⁴⁴²⁸ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ that⁸³⁴ were¹⁹⁶¹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ him.

34  In his days³¹¹⁷ did Hiel²⁴¹⁹ the Bethelite¹⁰¹⁷ build^{1129 853} Jericho:³⁴⁰⁵ he laid the foundation³²⁴⁵ thereof in Abiram⁴⁸ his firstborn,¹⁰⁶⁰ and set up⁵³²⁴ the gates¹⁸¹⁷ thereof in his youngest⁶⁸¹⁰ son Segub,⁷⁶⁸⁷ according to the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ which⁸³⁴ he spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ by³⁰²⁷ Joshua³⁰⁹¹ the son¹¹²¹ of Nun.⁵¹²⁶

1 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου ἐν χειρὶ Ιου υἱοῦ Ανανι πρὸς Βαασα

2 ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ὕψωσά σε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἔδωκά σε ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθης ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ἐξήμαρτες τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι με ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν

3 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω ὀπίσω Βαασα καὶ ὄπισθεν τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσω τὸν οἶκόν σου ὡς τὸν οἶκον Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ

4 τὸν τεθνηκότα τοῦ Βαασα ἐν τῇ πόλει καταφάγονται αὐτὸν οἱ κύνες καὶ τὸν τεθνηκότα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ καταφάγονται αὐτὸν τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ

5 καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Βαασα καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ αἱ δυναστεῖαι αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

6 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Βαασα μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται ἐν Θερσα καὶ βασιλεύει Ηλα υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ εἰκοστῷ ἔτει βασιλέως Ασα

7 καὶ ἐν χειρὶ Ιου υἱοῦ Ανανι ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ Βαασα καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ πᾶσαν τὴν κακίαν ἣν ἐποίησεν ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ παροργίσαι αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ τοῦ εἶναι κατὰ τὸν οἶκον Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ὑπὲρ τοῦ πατάξαι αὐτόν

8 καὶ Ηλα υἱὸς Βαασα ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ δύο ἔτη ἐν Θερσα

9 καὶ συνέστρεψεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν Ζαμβρι ὁ ἄρχων τῆς ἡμίσους τῆς ἵππου καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἐν Θερσα πίνων μεθύων ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Ωσα τοῦ οἰκονόμου ἐν Θερσα

10 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ζαμβρι καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ

11 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ καθίσαι αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν ὅλον τὸν οἶκον Βαασα

12 κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Βαασα πρὸς Ιου τὸν προφήτην

13 περὶ πασῶν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν Βαασα καὶ Ηλα τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν

14 καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ηλα καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

15 καὶ Ζαμβρι ἐβασίλευσεν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἐν Θερσα καὶ ἡ παρεμβολὴ Ισραηλ ἐπὶ Γαβαθων τὴν τῶν ἀλλοφύλων

16 καὶ ἤκουσεν ὁ λαὸς ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ λεγόντων συνεστράφη Ζαμβρι καὶ ἔπαισεν τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν ἐν Ισραηλ τὸν Αμβρι τὸν ἡγούμενον τῆς στρατιᾶς ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ

17 καὶ ἀνέβη Αμβρι καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐκ Γαβαθων καὶ περιεκάθισαν ἐπὶ Θερσα

18 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς εἶδεν Ζαμβρι ὅτι προκατείλημπται αὐτοῦ ἡ πόλις καὶ εἰσπορεύεται εἰς ἄντρον τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐνεπύρισεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν πυρὶ καὶ ἀπέθανεν

19 ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτοῦ ὧν ἐποίησεν τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου πορευθῆναι ἐν ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ

20 καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ζαμβρι καὶ τὰς συνάψεις αὐτοῦ ἃς συνῆψεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

21 τότε μερίζεται ὁ λαὸς Ισραηλ ἥμισυ τοῦ λαοῦ γίνεται ὀπίσω Θαμνι υἱοῦ Γωναθ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτόν καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ τοῦ λαοῦ γίνεται ὀπίσω Αμβρι

22 ὁ λαὸς ὁ ὢν ὀπίσω Αμβρι ὑπερεκράτησεν τὸν λαὸν τὸν ὀπίσω Θαμνι υἱοῦ Γωναθ καὶ ἀπέθανεν Θαμνι καὶ Ιωραμ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμβρι μετὰ Θαμνι

23 ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ τριακοστῷ καὶ πρώτῳ τοῦ βασιλέως Ασα βασιλεύει Αμβρι ἐπὶ Ισραηλ δώδεκα ἔτη ἐν Θερσα βασιλεύει ἓξ ἔτη

24 καὶ ἐκτήσατο Αμβρι τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σεμερων παρὰ Σεμηρ τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ ὄρους δύο ταλάντων ἀργυρίου καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἐπεκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ὄρους οὗ ᾠκοδόμεσεν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Σεμηρ τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ ὄρους Σαεμηρων

25 καὶ ἐποίησεν Αμβρι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐπονηρεύσατο ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς γενομένους ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ

26 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν πάσῃ ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ αἷς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι τὸν κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν

27 καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Αμβρι καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ ἡ δυναστεία αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

28 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Αμβρι μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ καὶ βασιλεύει Αχααβ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ τοῦ Αμβρι βασιλεύει Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς Ασα ἐτῶν τριάκοντα καὶ πέντε ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἴκοσι πέντε ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Γαζουβα θυγάτηρ Σελεϊ
καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ Ασα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῆς τοῦ ποιεῖν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου πλὴν τῶν ὑψηλῶν οὐκ ἐξῆραν ἔθυον ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς καὶ ἐθυμίων
καὶ ἃ συνέθετο Ιωσαφατ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δυναστεία ἣν ἐποίησεν καὶ οὓς ἐπολέμησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ιουδα
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν συμπλοκῶν ἃς ἐπέθεντο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Ασα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐξῆρεν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς
καὶ βασιλεὺς οὐκ ἦν ἐν Συρίᾳ νασιβ
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσαφατ ἐποίησεν ναῦν εἰς Θαρσις πορεύεσθαι εἰς Σωφιρ ἐπὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ὅτι συνετρίβη ἡ ναῦς ἐν Γασιωνγαβερ
τότε εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἐξαποστελῶ τοὺς παῖδάς σου καὶ τὰ παιδάριά μου ἐν τῇ νηί καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο Ιωσαφατ
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωσαφατ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωραμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ

29 ἐν ἔτει δευτέρῳ τῷ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεύει Αχααβ υἱὸς Αμβρι ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο ἔτη

30 καὶ ἐποίησεν Αχααβ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐπονηρεύσατο ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ

31 καὶ οὐκ ἦν αὐτῷ ἱκανὸν τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἔλαβεν γυναῖκα τὴν Ιεζαβελ θυγατέρα Ιεθεβααλ βασιλέως Σιδωνίων καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐδούλευσεν τῷ Βααλ καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῷ

32 καὶ ἔστησεν θυσιαστήριον τῷ Βααλ ἐν οἴκῳ τῶν προσοχθισμάτων αὐτοῦ ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ

33 καὶ ἐποίησεν Αχααβ ἄλσος καὶ προσέθηκεν Αχααβ τοῦ ποιῆσαι παροργίσματα τοῦ παροργίσαι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ τοῦ ἐξολεθρευθῆναι ἐκακοποίησεν ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς βασιλεῖς Ισραηλ τοὺς γενομένους ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ

34 ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ᾠκοδόμησεν Αχιηλ ὁ Βαιθηλίτης τὴν Ιεριχω ἐν τῷ Αβιρων τῷ πρωτοτόκῳ αὐτοῦ ἐθεμελίωσεν αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ Σεγουβ τῷ νεωτέρῳ αὐτοῦ ἐπέστησεν θύρας αὐτῆς κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ Ιησου υἱοῦ Ναυη

‎1 ‏וַיְהִ֤י דְבַר־יְהוָה֙ אֶל־יֵה֣וּא בֶן־חֲנָ֔נִי עַל־בַּעְשָׁ֖א לֵאמֹֽר׃

‎2 ‏יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר הֲרִימֹתִ֙יךָ֙ מִן־הֶ֣עָפָ֔ר וָאֶתֶּנְךָ֣ נָגִ֔יד עַ֖ל עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ׀ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָרָבְעָ֗ם וַֽתַּחֲטִא֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְהַכְעִיסֵ֖נִי בְּחַטֹּאתָֽם׃

‎3 ‏הִנְנִ֥י מַבְעִ֛יר אַחֲרֵ֥י בַעְשָׁ֖א וְאַחֲרֵ֣י בֵית֑וֹ וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣יתְךָ֔ כְּבֵ֖ית יָרָבְעָ֥ם בֶּן־נְבָֽט׃

‎4 ‏הַמֵּ֤ת לְבַעְשָׁא֙ בָּעִ֔יר יֹֽאכְל֖וּ הַכְּלָבִ֑ים וְהַמֵּ֥ת לוֹ֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה יֹאכְל֖וּ ע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

‎5 ‏וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י בַעְשָׁ֛א וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה וּגְבֽוּרָת֑וֹ הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎6 ‏וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב בַּעְשָׁא֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּתִרְצָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אֵלָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

‎7 ‏וְגַ֡ם בְּיַד־יֵה֨וּא בֶן־חֲנָ֜נִי הַנָּבִ֗יא דְּבַר־יְהוָ֡ה הָיָה֩ אֶל־בַּעְשָׁ֨א וְאֶל־בֵּית֜וֹ וְעַ֥ל כָּל־הָרָעָ֣ה׀ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֣ה׀ בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה לְהַכְעִיסוֹ֙ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדָ֔יו לִהְי֖וֹת כְּבֵ֣ית יָרָבְעָ֑ם וְעַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־הִכָּ֖ה אֹתֽוֹ׃ פ

‎8 ‏בִּשְׁנַ֨ת עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וָשֵׁשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה מָ֠לַךְ אֵלָ֨ה בֶן־בַּעְשָׁ֧א עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּתִרְצָ֖ה שְׁנָתָֽיִם׃

‎9 ‏וַיִּקְשֹׁ֤ר עָלָיו֙ עַבְדּ֣וֹ זִמְרִ֔י שַׂ֖ר מַחֲצִ֣ית הָרָ֑כֶב וְה֤וּא בְתִרְצָה֙ שֹׁתֶ֣ה שִׁכּ֔וֹר בֵּ֣ית אַרְצָ֔א אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הַבַּ֖יִת בְּתִרְצָֽה׃

‎10 ‏וַיָּבֹ֤א זִמְרִי֙ וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ וַיְמִיתֵ֔הוּ בִּשְׁנַת֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים וָשֶׁ֔בַע לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

‎11 ‏וַיְהִ֨י בְמָלְכ֜וֹ כְּשִׁבְתּ֣וֹ עַל־כִּסְא֗וֹ הִכָּה֙ אֶת־כָּל־בֵּ֣ית בַּעְשָׁ֔א לֹֽא־הִשְׁאִ֥יר ל֖וֹ מַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֑יר וְגֹאֲלָ֖יו וְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃

‎12 ‏וַיַּשְׁמֵ֣ד זִמְרִ֔י אֵ֖ת כָּל־בֵּ֣ית בַּעְשָׁ֑א כִּדְבַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר אֶל־בַּעְשָׁ֔א בְּיַ֖ד יֵה֥וּא הַנָּבִֽיא׃

‎13 ‏אֶ֚ל כָּל־חַטֹּ֣אות בַּעְשָׁ֔א וְחַטֹּ֖אות אֵלָ֣ה בְנ֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטְא֗וּ וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֶחֱטִ֙יאוּ֙ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְהַכְעִ֗יס אֶת־יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם׃

‎14 ‏וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י אֵלָ֖ה וְכָל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֽוֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ

‎15 ‏בִּשְׁנַת֩ עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וָשֶׁ֜בַע שָׁנָ֗ה לְאָסָא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה מָלַ֥ךְ זִמְרִ֛י שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים בְּתִרְצָ֑ה וְהָעָ֣ם חֹנִ֔ים עַֽל־גִּבְּת֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֥ר לַפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

‎16 ‏וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ הַחֹנִ֣ים לֵאמֹ֔ר קָשַׁ֣ר זִמְרִ֔י וְגַ֖ם הִכָּ֣ה אֶת־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיַּמְלִ֣כוּ כָֽל־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל אֶת־עָמְרִ֨י שַׂר־צָבָ֧א עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

‎17 ‏וַיַּעֲלֶ֥ה עָמְרִ֛י וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל עִמּ֖וֹ מִֽגִּבְּת֑וֹן וַיָּצֻ֖רוּ עַל־תִּרְצָֽה׃

‎18 ‏וַיְהִ֞י כִּרְא֤וֹת זִמְרִי֙ כִּֽי־נִלְכְּדָ֣ה הָעִ֔יר וַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־אַרְמ֣וֹן בֵּית־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיִּשְׂרֹ֨ף עָלָ֧יו אֶת־בֵּֽית־מֶ֛לֶךְ בָּאֵ֖שׁ וַיָּמֹֽת׃

‎19 ‏עַל־חטאתו חַטֹּאתָיו֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטָ֔א לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָרָבְעָ֔ם וּבְחַטָּאתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה לְהַחֲטִ֖יא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎20 ‏וְיֶ֙תֶר֙ דִּבְרֵ֣י זִמְרִ֔י וְקִשְׁר֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָשָׁ֑ר הֲלֹֽא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ

‎21 ‏אָ֧ז יֵחָלֵ֛ק הָעָ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַחֵ֑צִי חֲצִ֨י הָעָ֜ם הָ֠יָה אַחֲרֵ֨י תִבְנִ֤י בֶן־גִּינַת֙ לְהַמְלִיכ֔וֹ וְהַחֲצִ֖י אַחֲרֵ֥י עָמְרִֽי׃

‎22 ‏וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַחֲרֵ֣י עָמְרִ֔י אֶת־הָעָ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַחֲרֵ֖י תִּבְנִ֣י בֶן־גִּינַ֑ת וַיָּ֣מָת תִּבְנִ֔י וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עָמְרִֽי׃ פ

‎23 ‏בִּשְׁנַת֩ שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים וְאַחַ֜ת שָׁנָ֗ה לְאָסָא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה מָלַ֤ךְ עָמְרִי֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָ֑ה בְּתִרְצָ֖ה מָלַ֥ךְ שֵׁשׁ־שָׁנִֽים׃

‎24 ‏וַיִּ֜קֶן אֶת־הָהָ֥ר שֹׁמְר֛וֹן מֵ֥אֶת שֶׁ֖מֶר בְּכִכְּרַ֣יִם כָּ֑סֶף וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ אֶת־הָהָ֔ר וַיִּקְרָ֗א אֶת־שֵׁ֤ם הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֔ה עַ֣ל שֶׁם־שֶׁ֔מֶר אֲדֹנֵ֖י הָהָ֥ר שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

‎25 ‏וַיַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה עָמְרִ֛י הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיָּ֕רַע מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנָֽיו׃

‎26 ‏וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּכָל־דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ יָרָבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֔ט ובחטאתיו וּבְחַטָּאת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶחֱטִ֖יא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְהַכְעִ֗יס אֶת־יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם׃³

‎27 ‏וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֤י עָמְרִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה וּגְבוּרָת֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֹֽא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎28 ‏וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב עָמְרִי֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אַחְאָ֥ב בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ פ

‎29 ‏וְאַחְאָ֣ב בֶּן־עָמְרִ֗י מָלַךְ֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בִּשְׁנַ֨ת שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּשְׁמֹנֶה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וַ֠יִּמְלֹךְ אַחְאָ֨ב בֶּן־עָמְרִ֤י עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם שָׁנָֽה׃

‎30 ‏וַיַּ֨עַשׂ אַחְאָ֧ב בֶּן־עָמְרִ֛י הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנָֽיו׃

‎31 ‏וַיְהִי֙ הֲנָקֵ֣ל לֶכְתּ֔וֹ בְּחַטֹּ֖אות יָרָבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֑ט וַיִּקַּ֨ח אִשָּׁ֜ה אֶת־אִיזֶ֗בֶל בַּת־אֶתְבַּ֙עַל֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ צִידֹנִ֔ים וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־הַבַּ֔עַל וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ לֽוֹ׃

‎32 ‏וַיָּ֥קֶם מִזְבֵּ֖חַ לַבָּ֑עַל בֵּ֣ית הַבַּ֔עַל אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָ֖ה בְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

‎33 ‏וַיַּ֥עַשׂ אַחְאָ֖ב אֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרָ֑ה וַיּ֨וֹסֶף אַחְאָ֜ב לַעֲשׂ֗וֹת לְהַכְעִיס֙ אֶת־יְהוָֹה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִכֹּ֨ל מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָי֖וּ לְפָנָֽיו׃

‎34 ‏בְּיָמָ֞יו בָּנָ֥ה חִיאֵ֛ל בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלִ֖י אֶת־יְרִיחֹ֑ה בַּאֲבִירָ֨ם בְּכֹר֜וֹ יִסְּדָ֗הּ ובשגיב וּבִשְׂג֤וּב צְעִירוֹ֙ הִצִּ֣יב דְּלָתֶ֔יהָ כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ בִּן־נֽוּן׃ ס

1 Factus est autem sermo Domini ad Jehu filium Hanani contra Baasa, dicens:

2 Pro eo quod exaltavi te de pulvere, et posui te ducem super populum meum Israël, tu autem ambulasti in via Jeroboam, et peccare fecisti populum meum Israël, ut me irritares in peccatis eorum:

3 ecce ego demetam posteriora Baasa, et posteriora domus ejus, et faciam domum tuam sicut domum Jeroboam filii Nabat.

4 Qui mortuus fuerit de Baasa in civitate, comedent eum canes: et qui mortuus fuerit ex eo in regione, comedent eum volucres cæli.

5 Reliqua autem sermonum Baasa, et quæcumque fecit, et prælia ejus, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël?

6 Dormivit ergo Baasa cum patribus suis, sepultusque est in Thersa: et regnavit Ela filius ejus pro eo.

7 Cum autem in manu Jehu filii Hanani prophetæ verbum Domini factum esset contra Baasa, et contra domum ejus, et contra omne malum quod fecerat coram Domino, ad irritandum eum in operibus manuum suarum, ut fieret sicut domus Jeroboam: ob hanc causam occidit eum, hoc est, Jehu filium Hanani prophetam.

8 Anno vigesimo sexto Asa regis Juda, regnavit Ela filius Baasa super Israël in Thersa, duobus annis.

9 Et rebellavit contra eum servus suus Zambri, dux mediæ partis equitum: erat autem Ela in Thersa bibens, et temulentus in domo Arsa præfecti Thersa.

10 Irruens ergo Zambri, percussit et occidit eum, anno vigesimo septimo Asa regis Juda, et regnavit pro eo.

11 Cumque regnasset, et sedisset super solium ejus, percussit omnem domum Baasa, et non dereliquit ex ea mingentem ad parietem: et propinquos et amicos ejus.

12 Delevitque Zambri omnem domum Baasa, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus fuerat ad Baasa in manu Jehu prophetæ,

13 propter universa peccata Baasa, et peccata Ela filii ejus, qui peccaverunt, et peccare fecerunt Israël, provocantes Dominum Deum Israël in vanitatibus suis.

15 Anno vigesimo septimo Asa regis Juda, regnavit Zambri septem diebus in Thersa: porro exercitus obsidebat Gebbethon urbem Philisthinorum.

16 Cumque audisset rebellasse Zambri, et occidisse regem, fecit sibi regem omnis Israël Amri, qui erat princeps militiæ super Israël in die illa in castris.

17 Ascendit ergo Amri, et omnis Israël cum eo, de Gebbethon, et obsidebant Thersa.

18 Videns autem Zambri quod expugnanda esset civitas, ingressus est palatium, et succendit se cum domo regia: et mortuus est

19 in peccatis suis quæ peccaverat, faciens malum coram Domino, et ambulans in via Jeroboam, et in peccato ejus, quo fecit peccare Israël.

20 Reliqua autem sermonum Zambri, et insidiarum ejus, et tyrannidis, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël?

21 Tunc divisus est populus Israël in duas partes: media pars populi sequebatur Thebni filium Gineth, ut constitueret eum regem: et media pars Amri.

22 Prævaluit autem populus qui erat cum Amri, populo qui sequebatur Thebni filium Gineth: mortuusque est Thebni, et regnavit Amri.

23 Anno trigesimo primo Asa regis Juda, regnavit Amri super Israël, duodecim annis: in Thersa regnavit sex annis.

24 Emitque montem Samariæ a Somer duobus talentis argenti: et ædificavit eum, et vocavit nomen civitatis quam exstruxerat, nomine Semer domini montis, Samariam.

25 Fecit autem Amri malum in conspectu Domini, et operatus est nequiter, super omnes qui fuerunt ante eum.

26 Ambulavitque in omni via Jeroboam filii Nabat, et in peccatis ejus quibus peccare fecerat Israël, ut irritaret Dominum Deum Israël in vanitatibus suis.

27 Reliqua autem sermonum Amri, et prælia ejus quæ gessit, nonne hæc scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël?

28 Dormivitque Amri cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in Samaria: regnavitque Achab filius ejus pro eo.

29 Achab vero filius Amri regnavit super Israël anno trigesimo octavo Asa regis Juda. Et regnavit Achab filius Amri super Israël in Samaria viginti et duobus annis.

30 Et fecit Achab filius Amri malum in conspectu Domini super omnes qui fuerunt ante eum.

31 Nec suffecit ei ut ambularet in peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat: insuper duxit uxorem Jezabel filiam Ethbaal regis Sidoniorum. Et abiit, et servivit Baal, et adoravit eum.

32 Et posuit aram Baal in templo Baal, quod ædificaverat in Samaria,

33 et plantavit lucum: et addidit Achab in opere suo, irritans Dominum Deum Israël super omnes reges Israël qui fuerunt ante eum.

34 In diebus ejus ædificavit Hiel de Bethel Jericho: in Abiram primitivo suo fundavit eam, et in Segub novissimo suo posuit portas ejus, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus fuerat in manu Josue filii Nun.
