1  To the chief Musician,⁵³²⁹ A Psalm⁴²¹⁰ of David.¹⁷³² O LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ thou hast searched²⁷¹³ me, and known³⁰⁴⁵ me.

2  Thou⁸⁵⁹ knowest³⁰⁴⁵ my downsitting³⁴²⁷ and mine uprising,⁶⁹⁶⁵ thou understandest⁹⁹⁵ my thought⁷⁴⁵⁴ afar off.^{4480 7350}

3  Thou compassest²²¹⁹ my path⁷³⁴ and my lying down,⁷²⁵² and art acquainted⁵⁵³² with all³⁶⁰⁵ my ways.¹⁸⁷⁰

4  For³⁵⁸⁸ there is not³⁶⁹ a word⁴⁴⁰⁵ in my tongue,³⁹⁵⁶ but, lo,²⁰⁰⁵ O LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ thou knowest³⁰⁴⁵ it altogether.³⁶⁰⁵

5  Thou hast beset⁶⁶⁹⁶ me behind²⁶⁸ and before,⁶⁹²⁴ and laid⁷⁸⁹⁶ thine hand³⁷⁰⁹ upon⁵⁹²¹ me.

6  Such knowledge¹⁸⁴⁷ is too wonderful⁶³⁸³ for⁴⁴⁸⁰ me; it is high,⁷⁶⁸² I cannot^{3808 3201} attain unto it.

7  Whither⁵⁷⁵ shall I go¹⁹⁸⁰ from thy spirit?^{4480 7307} or whither⁵⁷⁵ shall I flee¹²⁷² from thy presence?^{4480 6440}

8  If⁵¹⁸ I ascend up⁵²⁶⁶ into heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ thou⁸⁵⁹ art there:⁸⁰³³ if I make my bed³³³¹ in hell,⁷⁵⁸⁵ behold,²⁰⁰⁹ thou art there.

9  If I take⁵³⁷⁵ the wings³⁶⁷¹ of the morning,⁷⁸³⁷ and dwell⁷⁹³¹ in the uttermost parts³¹⁹ of the sea;³²²⁰

10  Even¹⁵⁷¹ there⁸⁰³³ shall thy hand³⁰²⁷ lead⁵¹⁴⁸ me, and thy right hand³²²⁵ shall hold²⁷⁰ me.

11  If I say,⁵⁵⁹ Surely³⁸⁹ the darkness²⁸²² shall cover⁷⁷⁷⁹ me; even the night³⁹¹⁵ shall be light²¹⁶ about¹¹⁵⁷ me.

12  Yea,¹⁵⁷¹ the darkness²⁸²² hideth²⁸²¹ not³⁸⁰⁸ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ thee; but the night³⁹¹⁵ shineth²¹⁵ as the day:³¹¹⁷ the darkness²⁸²⁵ and the light²¹⁹ are both alike to thee.

13  For³⁵⁸⁸ thou⁸⁵⁹ hast possessed⁷⁰⁶⁹ my reins:³⁶²⁹ thou hast covered⁵⁵²⁶ me in my mother's⁵¹⁷ womb.⁹⁹⁰

14  I will praise³⁰³⁴ thee; for^{5921 3588} I am fearfully³³⁷² and wonderfully⁶³⁹⁵ made: marvelous⁶³⁸¹ are thy works;⁴⁶³⁹ and that my soul⁵³¹⁵ knoweth³⁰⁴⁵ right well.³⁹⁶⁶

15  My substance⁶¹⁰⁸ was not³⁸⁰⁸ hid³⁵⁸² from⁴⁴⁸⁰ thee, when⁸³⁴ I was made⁶²¹³ in secret,⁵⁶⁴³ and curiously wrought⁷⁵⁵¹ in the lowest parts⁸⁴⁸² of the earth.⁷⁷⁶

16  Thine eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ did see⁷²⁰⁰ my substance, yet being unperfect;¹⁵⁶⁴ and in⁵⁹²¹ thy book⁵⁶¹² all³⁶⁰⁵ my members were written,³⁷⁸⁹ which in continuance³¹¹⁷ were fashioned,³³³⁵ when as yet there was none^{3808 259} of them.

17  How⁴¹⁰⁰ precious³³⁶⁵ also are thy thoughts⁷⁴⁵⁴ unto me, O God!⁴¹⁰ how⁴¹⁰⁰ great⁶¹⁰⁵ is the sum⁷²¹⁸ of them!

18  If I should count⁵⁶⁰⁸ them, they are more in number⁷²³⁵ than the sand:^{4480 2344} when I awake,⁶⁹⁷⁴ I am still⁵⁷⁵⁰ with thee.⁵⁹⁷³

19  Surely⁵¹⁸ thou wilt slay⁶⁹⁹¹ the wicked,⁷⁵⁶³ O God:⁴³³ depart⁵⁴⁹³ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ me therefore, ye bloody¹⁸¹⁸ men.³⁷⁶

20  For⁸³⁴ they speak⁵⁵⁹ against thee wickedly,⁴²⁰⁹ and thine enemies⁶¹⁴⁵ take⁵³⁷⁵ thy name in vain.⁷⁷²³

21  Do not³⁸⁰⁸ I hate⁸¹³⁰ them, O LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ that hate⁸¹³⁰ thee? and am not I grieved⁶⁹⁶² with those that rise up against⁸⁶¹⁸ thee?

22  I hate⁸¹³⁰ them with perfect⁸⁵⁰³ hatred:⁸¹³⁵ I count¹⁹⁶¹ them mine enemies.³⁴¹

23  Search²⁷¹³ me, O God,⁴¹⁰ and know³⁰⁴⁵ my heart:³⁸²⁴ try⁹⁷⁴ me, and know³⁰⁴⁵ my thoughts:⁸³¹²

24  And see⁷²⁰⁰ if⁵¹⁸ there be any wicked⁶⁰⁹⁰ way¹⁸⁷⁰ in me, and lead⁵¹⁴⁸ me in the way¹⁸⁷⁰ everlasting.⁵⁷⁶⁹

2 ἐξελοῦ με κύριε ἐξ ἀνθρώπου πονηροῦ ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς ἀδίκου ῥῦσαί με

3 οἵτινες ἐλογίσαντο ἀδικίας ἐν καρδίᾳ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν παρετάσσοντο πολέμους

4 ἠκόνησαν γλῶσσαν αὐτῶν ὡσεὶ ὄφεως ἰὸς ἀσπίδων ὑπὸ τὰ χείλη αὐτῶν διάψαλμα

5 φύλαξόν με κύριε ἐκ χειρὸς ἁμαρτωλοῦ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπων ἀδίκων ἐξελοῦ με οἵτινες ἐλογίσαντο ὑποσκελίσαι τὰ διαβήματά μου

6 ἔκρυψαν ὑπερήφανοι παγίδα μοι καὶ σχοινία διέτειναν παγίδας τοῖς ποσίν μου ἐχόμενα τρίβου σκάνδαλον ἔθεντό μοι διάψαλμα

7 εἶπα τῷ κυρίῳ θεός μου εἶ σύ ἐνώτισαι κύριε τὴν φωνὴν τῆς δεήσεώς μου

8 κύριε κύριε δύναμις τῆς σωτηρίας μου ἐπεσκίασας ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλήν μου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ πολέμου

9 μὴ παραδῷς με κύριε ἀπὸ τῆς ἐπιθυμίας μου ἁμαρτωλῷ διελογίσαντο κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς με μήποτε ὑψωθῶσιν διάψαλμα

10 ἡ κεφαλὴ τοῦ κυκλώματος αὐτῶν κόπος τῶν χειλέων αὐτῶν καλύψει αὐτούς

11 πεσοῦνται ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς ἄνθρακες ἐν πυρὶ καταβαλεῖς αὐτούς ἐν ταλαιπωρίαις οὐ μὴ ὑποστῶσιν

12 ἀνὴρ γλωσσώδης οὐ κατευθυνθήσεται ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἄνδρα ἄδικον κακὰ θηρεύσει εἰς διαφθοράν

13 ἔγνων ὅτι ποιήσει κύριος τὴν κρίσιν τοῦ πτωχοῦ καὶ τὴν δίκην τῶν πενήτων

14 πλὴν δίκαιοι ἐξομολογήσονται τῷ ὀνόματί σου καὶ κατοικήσουσιν εὐθεῖς σὺν τῷ προσώπῳ σου

‎1 ‏לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִ֣ד מִזְמ֑וֹר יְהוָ֥ה חֲ֝קַרְתַּ֗נִי וַתֵּדָֽע׃

‎2 ‏אַתָּ֣ה יָ֭דַעְתָּ שִׁבְתִּ֣י וְקוּמִ֑י בַּ֥נְתָּה לְ֝רֵעִ֗י מֵרָחֽוֹק׃

‎3 ‏אָרְחִ֣י וְרִבְעִ֣י זֵרִ֑יתָ וְֽכָל־דְּרָכַ֥י הִסְכַּֽנְתָּה׃

‎4 ‏כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין מִ֭לָּה בִּלְשׁוֹנִ֑י הֵ֥ן יְ֝הוָ֗ה יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃

‎5 ‏אָח֣וֹר וָקֶ֣דֶם צַרְתָּ֑נִי וַתָּ֖שֶׁת עָלַ֣י כַּפֶּֽכָה׃

‎6 ‏פלאיה פְּלִ֣יאָֽה דַ֣עַת מִמֶּ֑נִּי נִ֝שְׂגְּבָ֗ה לֹא־א֥וּכַֽל לָֽהּ׃

‎7 ‏אָ֭נָ֥ה אֵלֵ֣ךְ מֵרוּחֶ֑ךָ וְ֝אָ֗נָה מִפָּנֶ֥יךָ אֶבְרָֽח׃

‎8 ‏אִם־אֶסַּ֣ק שָׁ֭מַיִם שָׁ֣ם אָ֑תָּה וְאַצִּ֖יעָה שְּׁא֣וֹל הִנֶּֽךָּ׃

‎9 ‏אֶשָּׂ֥א כַנְפֵי־שָׁ֑חַר אֶ֝שְׁכְּנָ֗ה בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית יָֽם׃

‎10 ‏גַּם־שָׁ֭ם יָדְךָ֣ תַנְחֵ֑נִי וְֽתֹאחֲזֵ֥נִי יְמִינֶֽךָ׃

‎11 ‏וָ֭אֹמַר אַךְ־חֹ֣שֶׁךְ יְשׁוּפֵ֑נִי וְ֝לַ֗יְלָה א֣וֹר בַּעֲדֵֽנִי׃

‎12 ‏גַּם־חֹשֶׁךְ֮ לֹֽא־יַחְשִׁ֪יךְ מִ֫מֶּ֥ךָ וְ֭לַיְלָה כַּיּ֣וֹם יָאִ֑יר כַּ֝חֲשֵׁיכָ֗ה כָּאוֹרָֽה׃

‎13 ‏כִּֽי־אַ֭תָּה קָנִ֣יתָ כִלְיֹתָ֑י תְּ֝סֻכֵּ֗נִי בְּבֶ֣טֶן אִמִּֽי׃

‎14 ‏אֽוֹדְךָ֗ עַ֤ל כִּ֥י נוֹרָא֗וֹת נִ֫פְלֵ֥יתִי נִפְלָאִ֥ים מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י יֹדַ֥עַת מְאֹֽד׃

‎15 ‏לֹא־נִכְחַ֥ד עָצְמִ֗י מִ֫מֶּ֥ךָּ אֲשֶׁר־עֻשֵּׂ֥יתִי בַסֵּ֑תֶר רֻ֝קַּ֗מְתִּי בְּֽתַחְתִּיּ֥וֹת אָֽרֶץ׃

‎16 ‏גָּלְמִ֤י׀ רָ֘א֤וּ עֵינֶ֗יךָ וְעַֽל־סִפְרְךָ֮ כֻּלָּ֪ם יִכָּ֫תֵ֥בוּ יָמִ֥ים יֻצָּ֑רוּ ולא וְל֖וֹ אֶחָ֣ד בָּהֶֽם׃

‎17 ‏וְלִ֗י מַה־יָּקְר֣וּ רֵעֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑ל מֶ֥ה עָ֝צְמוּ רָאשֵׁיהֶֽם׃

‎18 ‏אֶ֭סְפְּרֵם מֵח֣וֹל יִרְבּ֑וּן הֱ֝קִיצֹ֗תִי וְעוֹדִ֥י עִמָּֽךְ׃

‎19 ‏אִם־תִּקְטֹ֖ל אֱל֥וֹהַּ׀ רָשָׁ֑ע וְאַנְשֵׁ֥י דָ֝מִ֗ים ס֣וּרוּ מֶֽנִּי׃

‎20 ‏אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֹ֭אמְרֻךָ לִמְזִמָּ֑ה נָשֻׂ֖א לַשָּׁ֣וְא עָרֶֽיךָ׃

‎21 ‏הֲלֽוֹא־מְשַׂנְאֶ֖יךָ יְהוָ֥ה׀ אֶשְׂנָ֑א וּ֝בִתְקוֹמְמֶ֗יךָ אֶתְקוֹטָֽט׃

‎22 ‏תַּכְלִ֣ית שִׂנְאָ֣ה שְׂנֵאתִ֑ים לְ֝אוֹיְבִ֗ים הָ֣יוּ לִֽי׃

‎23 ‏חָקְרֵ֣נִי אֵ֭ל וְדַ֣ע לְבָבִ֑י בְּ֝חָנֵ֗נִי וְדַ֣ע שַׂרְעַפָּֽי׃

‎24 ‏וּרְאֵ֗ה אִם־דֶּֽרֶךְ־עֹ֥צֶב בִּ֑י וּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עוֹלָֽם׃

2 [Eripe me, Domine, ab homine malo;
a viro iniquo eripe me.

3 Qui cogitaverunt iniquitates in corde,
tota die constituebant prælia.

4 Acuerunt linguas suas sicut serpentis;
venenum aspidum sub labiis eorum.

5 Custodi me, Domine, de manu peccatoris,
et ab hominibus iniquis eripe me.
Qui cogitaverunt supplantare gressus meos:

6 absconderunt superbi laqueum mihi.
Et funes extenderunt in laqueum;
juxta iter, scandalum posuerunt mihi.

7 Dixi Domino: Deus meus es tu;
exaudi, Domine, vocem deprecationis meæ.

8 Domine, Domine, virtus salutis meæ,
obumbrasti super caput meum in die belli.

9 Ne tradas me, Domine, a desiderio meo peccatori:
cogitaverunt contra me;
ne derelinquas me, ne forte exaltentur.

10 Caput circuitus eorum:
labor labiorum ipsorum operiet eos.

11 Cadent super eos carbones;
in ignem dejicies eos:
in miseriis non subsistent.

12 Vir linguosus non dirigetur in terra;
virum injustum mala capient in interitu.

13 Cognovi quia faciet Dominus judicium inopis,
et vindictam pauperum.

14 Verumtamen justi confitebuntur nomini tuo,
