1  And David¹⁷³² said,⁵⁵⁹ Is there³⁴²⁶ yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ any⁸³⁴ that is left³⁴⁹⁸ of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Saul,⁷⁵⁸⁶ that I may show^{6213 5973} him kindness²⁶¹⁷ for Jonathan's³¹²⁹ sake?⁵⁶⁶⁸

2  And there was of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Saul⁷⁵⁸⁶ a servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ whose name⁸⁰³⁴ was Ziba.⁶⁷¹⁷ And when they had called⁷¹²¹ him unto⁴¹³ David,¹⁷³² the king⁴⁴²⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ him, Art thou⁸⁵⁹ Ziba?⁶⁷¹⁷ And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Thy servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ is he.

3  And the king⁴⁴²⁸ said,⁵⁵⁹ Is there not⁶⁵⁷ yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ any³⁷⁶ of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Saul,⁷⁵⁸⁶ that I may show⁶²¹³ the kindness²⁶¹⁷ of God⁴³⁰ unto⁵⁹⁷³ him? And Ziba⁶⁷¹⁷ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ the king,⁴⁴²⁸ Jonathan³⁰⁸³ hath yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ a son,¹¹²¹ which is lame⁵²²³ on his feet.⁷²⁷²

4  And the king⁴⁴²⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Where³⁷⁵ is he?¹⁹³¹ And Ziba⁶⁷¹⁷ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ the king,⁴⁴²⁸ Behold,²⁰⁰⁹ he¹⁹³¹ is in the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Machir,⁴³⁵³ the son¹¹²¹ of Ammiel,⁵⁹⁸⁸ in Lo-debar.³⁸¹⁰

5  Then king⁴⁴²⁸ David¹⁷³² sent,⁷⁹⁷¹ and fetched³⁹⁴⁷ him out of the house^{4480 1004} of Machir,⁴³⁵³ the son¹¹²¹ of Ammiel,⁵⁹⁸⁸ from Lo-debar.^{4480 3810}

6  Now when Mephibosheth,⁴⁶⁴⁸ the son¹¹²¹ of Jonathan,³⁰⁸³ the son¹¹²¹ of Saul,⁷⁵⁸⁶ was come⁹³⁵ unto⁴¹³ David,¹⁷³² he fell⁵³⁰⁷ on⁵⁹²¹ his face,⁶⁴⁴⁰ and did reverence.⁷⁸¹² And David¹⁷³² said,⁵⁵⁹ Mephibosheth.⁴⁶⁴⁸ And he answered,⁵⁵⁹ Behold²⁰⁰⁹ thy servant!⁵⁶⁵⁰

7  And David¹⁷³² said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Fear³³⁷² not:⁴⁰⁸ for³⁵⁸⁸ I will surely show^{6213 6213 5973} thee kindness²⁶¹⁷ for Jonathan³⁰⁸³ thy father's¹ sake,⁵⁶⁶⁸ and will restore⁷⁷²⁵ thee ⁸⁵³ all³⁶⁰⁵ the land⁷⁷⁰⁴ of Saul⁷⁵⁸⁶ thy father;¹ and thou⁸⁵⁹ shalt eat³⁹⁸ bread³⁸⁹⁹ at⁵⁹²¹ my table⁷⁹⁷⁹ continually.⁸⁵⁴⁸

8  And he bowed himself,⁷⁸¹² and said,⁵⁵⁹ What⁴¹⁰⁰ is thy servant,⁵⁶⁵⁰ that³⁵⁸⁸ thou shouldest look⁶⁴³⁷ upon⁴¹³ such⁸³⁴ a dead⁴¹⁹¹ dog³⁶¹¹ as I³⁶⁴⁴ am?

9  Then the king⁴⁴²⁸ called⁷¹²¹ to⁴¹³ Ziba,⁶⁷¹⁷ Saul's⁷⁵⁸⁶ servant,⁵²⁸⁸ and said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ him, I have given⁵⁴¹⁴ unto thy master's¹¹³ son¹¹²¹ all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ pertained¹⁹⁶¹ to Saul⁷⁵⁸⁶ and to all³⁶⁰⁵ his house.¹⁰⁰⁴

10  Thou⁸⁵⁹ therefore, and thy sons,¹¹²¹ and thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ shall till^{5647 853} the land¹²⁷ for him, and thou shalt bring⁹³⁵ in the fruits, that thy master's¹¹³ son¹¹²¹ may have¹⁹⁶¹ food³⁸⁹⁹ to eat:³⁹⁸ but Mephibosheth⁴⁶⁴⁸ thy master's¹¹³ son¹¹²¹ shall eat³⁹⁸ bread³⁸⁹⁹ always⁸⁵⁴⁸ at⁵⁹²¹ my table.⁷⁹⁷⁹ Now Ziba⁶⁷¹⁷ had fifteen^{2568 6240} sons¹¹²¹ and twenty⁶²⁴² servants.⁵⁶⁵⁰

11  Then said⁵⁵⁹ Ziba⁶⁷¹⁷ unto⁴¹³ the king,⁴⁴²⁸ According to all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ my lord¹¹³ the king⁴⁴²⁸ hath commanded^{6680 853} his servant,⁵⁶⁵⁰ so³⁶⁵¹ shall thy servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ do.⁶²¹³ As for Mephibosheth,⁴⁶⁴⁸ said the king, he shall eat³⁹⁸ at⁵⁹²¹ my table,⁷⁹⁷⁹ as one²⁵⁹ of the king's sons.^{4480 1121 4428}

12  And Mephibosheth⁴⁶⁴⁸ had a young⁶⁹⁹⁶ son,¹¹²¹ whose name⁸⁰³⁴ was Micha.⁴³¹⁶ And all³⁶⁰⁵ that dwelt⁴¹⁸⁶ in the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Ziba⁶⁷¹⁷ were servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ unto Mephibosheth.⁴⁶⁴⁸

13  So Mephibosheth⁴⁶⁴⁸ dwelt³⁴²⁷ in Jerusalem:³³⁸⁹ for³⁵⁸⁸ he¹⁹³¹ did eat³⁹⁸ continually⁸⁵⁴⁸ at⁵⁹²¹ the king's⁴⁴²⁸ table;⁷⁹⁷⁹ and was lame⁶⁴⁵⁵ on both⁸¹⁴⁷ his feet.⁷²⁷²

1 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ εἰ ἔστιν ἔτι ὑπολελειμμένος τῷ οἴκῳ Σαουλ καὶ ποιήσω μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἔλεος ἕνεκεν Ιωναθαν

2 καὶ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου Σαουλ παῖς ἦν καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Σιβα καὶ καλοῦσιν αὐτὸν πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ σὺ εἶ Σιβα καὶ εἶπεν ἐγὼ δοῦλος σός

3 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ ὑπολέλειπται ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου Σαουλ ἔτι ἀνὴρ καὶ ποιήσω μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἔλεος θεοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Σιβα πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἔτι ἔστιν υἱὸς τῷ Ιωναθαν πεπληγὼς τοὺς πόδας

4 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς ποῦ οὗτος καὶ εἶπεν Σιβα πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἰδοὺ ἐν οἴκῳ Μαχιρ υἱοῦ Αμιηλ ἐκ τῆς Λαδαβαρ

5 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου Μαχιρ υἱοῦ Αμιηλ ἐκ τῆς Λαδαβαρ

6 καὶ παραγίνεται Μεμφιβοσθε υἱὸς Ιωναθαν υἱοῦ Σαουλ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Δαυιδ καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῷ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Δαυιδ Μεμφιβοσθε καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ ὁ δοῦλός σου

7 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Δαυιδ μὴ φοβοῦ ὅτι ποιῶν ποιήσω μετὰ σοῦ ἔλεος διὰ Ιωναθαν τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ ἀποκαταστήσω σοι πάντα ἀγρὸν Σαουλ πατρὸς τοῦ πατρός σου καὶ σὺ φάγῃ ἄρτον ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης μου διὰ παντός

8 καὶ προσεκύνησεν Μεμφιβοσθε καὶ εἶπεν τίς εἰμι ὁ δοῦλός σου ὅτι ἐπέβλεψας ἐπὶ τὸν κύνα τὸν τεθνηκότα τὸν ὅμοιον ἐμοί

9 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σιβα τὸ παιδάριον Σαουλ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν πάντα ὅσα ἐστὶν τῷ Σαουλ καὶ ὅλῳ τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ δέδωκα τῷ υἱῷ τοῦ κυρίου σου

10 καὶ ἐργᾷ αὐτῷ τὴν γῆν σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ οἱ δοῦλοί σου καὶ εἰσοίσεις τῷ υἱῷ τοῦ κυρίου σου ἄρτους καὶ ἔδεται αὐτούς καὶ Μεμφιβοσθε υἱὸς τοῦ κυρίου σου φάγεται διὰ παντὸς ἄρτον ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης μου καὶ τῷ Σιβα ἦσαν πεντεκαίδεκα υἱοὶ καὶ εἴκοσι δοῦλοι

11 καὶ εἶπεν Σιβα πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐντέταλται ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ δούλῳ αὐτοῦ οὕτως ποιήσει ὁ δοῦλός σου καὶ Μεμφιβοσθε ἤσθιεν ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης Δαυιδ καθὼς εἷς τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ βασιλέως

12 καὶ τῷ Μεμφιβοσθε υἱὸς μικρὸς καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Μιχα καὶ πᾶσα ἡ κατοίκησις τοῦ οἴκου Σιβα δοῦλοι τοῦ Μεμφιβοσθε

13 καὶ Μεμφιβοσθε κατῴκει ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης τοῦ βασιλέως διὰ παντὸς ἤσθιεν καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν χωλὸς ἀμφοτέροις τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτοῦ

‎1 ‏וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֔ד הֲכִ֣י יֶשׁ־ע֔וֹד אֲשֶׁ֥ר נוֹתַ֖ר לְבֵ֣ית שָׁא֑וּל וְאֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה עִמּוֹ֙ חֶ֔סֶד בַּעֲב֖וּר יְהוֹנָתָֽן׃

‎2 ‏וּלְבֵ֨ית שָׁא֥וּל עֶ֙בֶד֙ וּשְׁמ֣וֹ צִיבָ֔א וַיִּקְרְאוּ־ל֖וֹ אֶל־דָּוִ֑ד וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ אֵלָ֛יו הַאַתָּ֥ה צִיבָ֖א וַיֹּ֥אמֶר עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

‎3 ‏וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ הַאֶ֨פֶס ע֥וֹד אִישׁ֙ לְבֵ֣ית שָׁא֔וּל וְאֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה עִמּ֖וֹ חֶ֣סֶד אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיֹּ֤אמֶר צִיבָא֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ ע֛וֹד בֵּ֥ן לִיהוֹנָתָ֖ן נְכֵ֥ה רַגְלָֽיִם׃

‎4 ‏וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֵיפֹ֣ה ה֑וּא וַיֹּ֤אמֶר צִיבָא֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ הִנֵּה־ה֗וּא בֵּ֛ית מָכִ֥יר בֶּן־עַמִּיאֵ֖ל בְּל֥וֹ דְבָֽר׃

‎5 ‏וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ מִבֵּ֛ית מָכִ֥יר בֶּן־עַמִּיאֵ֖ל מִלּ֥וֹ דְבָֽר׃

‎6 ‏וַ֠יָּבֹא מְפִיבֹ֨שֶׁת בֶּן־יְהוֹנָתָ֤ן בֶּן־שָׁאוּל֙ אֶל־דָּוִ֔ד וַיִּפֹּ֥ל עַל־פָּנָ֖יו וַיִּשְׁתָּ֑חוּ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִד֙ מְפִיבֹ֔שֶׁת וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הִנֵּ֥ה עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃

‎7 ‏וַיֹּאמֶר֩ ל֨וֹ דָוִ֜ד אַל־תִּירָ֗א כִּ֣י עָשֹׂה֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה עִמְּךָ֥ חֶ֙סֶד֙ בַּֽעֲבוּר֙ יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן אָבִ֔יךָ וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֣י לְךָ֔ אֶֽת־כָּל־שְׂדֵ֖ה שָׁא֣וּל אָבִ֑יךָ וְאַתָּ֗ה תֹּ֥אכַל לֶ֛חֶם עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִ֖י תָּמִֽיד׃

‎8 ‏וַיִּשְׁתַּ֕חוּ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מֶ֣ה עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֣י פָנִ֔יתָ אֶל־הַכֶּ֥לֶב הַמֵּ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּמֽוֹנִי׃

‎9 ‏וַיִּקְרָ֣א הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֶל־צִיבָ֛א נַ֥עַר שָׁא֖וּל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֑יו כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֤ה לְשָׁאוּל֙ וּלְכָל־בֵּית֔וֹ נָתַ֖תִּי לְבֶן־אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃

‎10 ‏וְעָבַ֣דְתָּ לּ֣וֹ אֶֽת־הָאֲדָמָ֡ה אַתָּה֩ וּבָנֶ֨יךָ וַעֲבָדֶ֜יךָ וְהֵבֵ֗אתָ וְהָיָ֨ה לְבֶן־אֲדֹנֶ֤יךָ לֶּ֙חֶם֙ וַאֲכָל֔וֹ וּמְפִיבֹ֙שֶׁת֙ בֶּן־אֲדֹנֶ֔יךָ יֹאכַ֥ל תָּמִ֛יד לֶ֖חֶם עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִ֑י וּלְצִיבָ֗א חֲמִשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֛ר בָּנִ֖ים וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים עֲבָדִֽים׃

‎11 ‏וַיֹּ֤אמֶר צִיבָא֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כְּכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְצַוֶּ֜ה אֲדֹנִ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶת־עַבְדּ֔וֹ כֵּ֖ן יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ וּמְפִיבֹ֗שֶׁת אֹכֵל֙ עַל־שֻׁלְחָנִ֔י כְּאַחַ֖ד מִבְּנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

‎12 ‏וְלִמְפִיבֹ֥שֶׁת בֵּן־קָטָ֖ן וּשְׁמ֣וֹ מִיכָ֑א וְכֹל֙ מוֹשַׁ֣ב בֵּית־צִיבָ֔א עֲבָדִ֖ים לִמְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃

‎13 ‏וּמְפִיבֹ֗שֶׁת יֹשֵׁב֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם כִּ֣י עַל־שֻׁלְחַ֥ן הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ תָּמִ֖יד ה֣וּא אֹכֵ֑ל וְה֥וּא פִּסֵּ֖חַ שְׁתֵּ֥י רַגְלָֽיו׃ פ

1 Et dixit David: Putasne est aliquis qui remanserit de domo Saul, ut faciam cum eo misericordiam propter Jonathan?

2 Erat autem de domo Saul servus nomine Siba: quem cum vocasset rex ad se, dixit ei: Tune es Siba? Et ille respondit: Ego sum servus tuus.

3 Et ait rex: Numquid superest aliquis de domo Saul, ut faciam cum eo misericordiam Dei? Dixitque Siba regi: Superest filius Jonathæ, debilis pedibus.

4 Ubi, inquit, est? Et Siba ad regem: Ecce, ait, in domo est Machir filii Ammiel, in Lodabar.

5 Misit ergo rex David, et tulit eum de domo Machir filii Ammiel, de Lodabar.

6 Cum autem venisset Miphiboseth filius Jonathæ filii Saul ad David, corruit in faciem suam, et adoravit. Dixitque David: Miphiboseth? Qui respondit: Adsum servus tuus.

7 Et ait ei David: Ne timeas, quia faciens faciam in te misericordiam propter Jonathan patrem tuum, et restituam tibi omnes agros Saul patris tui: et tu comedes panem in mensa mea semper.

8 Qui adorans eum, dixit: Quis ego sum servus tuus, quoniam respexisti super canem mortuum similem mei?

9 Vocavit itaque rex Sibam puerum Saul, et dixit ei: Omnia quæcumque fuerunt Saul, et universam domum ejus, dedi filio domini tui.

10 Operare igitur ei terram tu, et filii tui, et servi tui, et inferes filio domini tui cibos ut alatur: Miphiboseth autem filius domini tui comedet semper panem super mensam meam. Erant autem Sibæ quindecim filii, et viginti servi.

11 Dixitque Siba ad regem: Sicut jussisti, domine mi rex, servo tuo, sic faciet servus tuus: et Miphiboseth comedet super mensam meam, quasi unus de filiis regis.

12 Habebat autem Miphiboseth filium parvulum nomine Micha: omnis vero cognatio domus Sibæ serviebat Miphiboseth.

13 Porro Miphiboseth habitabat in Jerusalem, quia de mensa regis jugiter vescebatur: et erat claudus utroque pede.
