Paris Dec. 13, - As the Allied armies ground out new gains
on the western front today, the Germans were disclosed to have
thrown a new device into the war- mysterious silvery balls
which float in the air.
        Pilots report seeing these objects, both individually
and in clusters, during forays over the Reich.
        (The purpose of the floaters was not imeediately evident.
It is possible that they represent a new anti-aircraft
defense instrument or weapon.)
        (This dispatch was heavily censored at supreme
Headquarters.)
