1  Now⁶²⁵⁸ therefore hearken,⁸⁰⁸⁵ O Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ unto⁴¹³ the statutes²⁷⁰⁶ and unto⁴¹³ the judgments,⁴⁹⁴¹ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ teach³⁹²⁵ you, for to do⁶²¹³ them, that⁴⁶¹⁶ ye may live,²⁴²¹ and go in⁹³⁵ and possess^{3423 853} the land⁷⁷⁶ which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of your fathers¹ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ you.

2  Ye shall not³⁸⁰⁸ add³²⁵⁴ unto⁵⁹²¹ the word¹⁶⁹⁷ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ command⁶⁶⁸⁰ you, neither³⁸⁰⁸ shall ye diminish¹⁶³⁹ aught from⁴⁴⁸⁰ it, that ye may keep^{8104 853} the commandments⁴⁶⁸⁷ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ command⁶⁶⁸⁰ you.

3  Your eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ have seen^{7200 853} what⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ did⁶²¹³ because of Baal-peor:¹¹⁸⁷ for³⁵⁸⁸ all³⁶⁰⁵ the men³⁷⁶ that⁸³⁴ followed^{1980 310} Baal-peor,¹¹⁸⁷ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ hath destroyed⁸⁰⁴⁵ them from among^{4480 7130} you.

4  But ye⁸⁵⁹ that did cleave¹⁶⁹⁵ unto the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ are alive²⁴¹⁶ every one³⁶⁰⁵ of you this day.³¹¹⁷

5  Behold,⁷²⁰⁰ I have taught³⁹²⁵ you statutes²⁷⁰⁶ and judgments,⁴⁹⁴¹ even as⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ my God⁴³⁰ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ me, that ye should do⁶²¹³ so³⁶⁵¹ in⁷¹³⁰ the land⁷⁷⁶ whither^{834 8033} ye⁸⁵⁹ go⁹³⁵ to possess³⁴²³ it.

6  Keep⁸¹⁰⁴ therefore and do⁶²¹³ them; for³⁵⁸⁸ this¹⁹³¹ is your wisdom²⁴⁵¹ and your understanding⁹⁹⁸ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the nations,⁵⁹⁷¹ which⁸³⁴ shall hear^{8085 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ these⁴²⁸ statutes,²⁷⁰⁶ and say,⁵⁵⁹ Surely⁷⁵³⁵ this²⁰⁸⁸ great¹⁴¹⁹ nation¹⁴⁷¹ is a wise²⁴⁵⁰ and understanding⁹⁹⁵ people.⁵⁹⁷¹

7  For³⁵⁸⁸ what⁴³¹⁰ nation¹⁴⁷¹ is there so great,¹⁴¹⁹ who⁸³⁴ hath God⁴³⁰ so nigh⁷¹³⁸ unto⁴¹³ them, as the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ our God⁴³⁰ is in all³⁶⁰⁵ things that we call⁷¹²¹ upon⁴¹³ him for?

8  And what⁴³¹⁰ nation¹⁴⁷¹ is there so great,¹⁴¹⁹ that⁸³⁴ hath statutes²⁷⁰⁶ and judgments⁴⁹⁴¹ so righteous⁶⁶⁶² as all³⁶⁰⁵ this²⁰⁶³ law,⁸⁴⁵¹ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ set⁵⁴¹⁴ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ you this day?³¹¹⁷

9  Only⁷⁵³⁵ take heed⁸¹⁰⁴ to thyself, and keep⁸¹⁰⁴ thy soul⁵³¹⁵ diligently,³⁹⁶⁶ lest⁶⁴³⁵ thou forget^{7911 853} the things¹⁶⁹⁷ which⁸³⁴ thine eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ have seen,⁷²⁰⁰ and lest⁶⁴³⁵ they depart⁵⁴⁹³ from thy heart^{4480 3824} all³⁶⁰⁵ the days³¹¹⁷ of thy life:²⁴¹⁶ but teach³⁰⁴⁵ them thy sons,¹¹²¹ and thy sons'¹¹²¹ sons;¹¹²¹

10  Especially the day³¹¹⁷ that⁸³⁴ thou stoodest⁵⁹⁷⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ in Horeb,²⁷²² when the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ me, Gather me the people together,^{6950 853 5971} and I will make them hear^{8085 853} my words,¹⁶⁹⁷ that⁸³⁴ they may learn³⁹²⁵ to fear³³⁷² me all³⁶⁰⁵ the days³¹¹⁷ that⁸³⁴ they¹⁹⁹² shall live²⁴¹⁶ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,¹²⁷ and that they may teach³⁹²⁵ their children.¹¹²¹

11  And ye came near⁷¹²⁶ and stood⁵⁹⁷⁵ under⁸⁴⁷⁸ the mountain;²⁰²² and the mountain²⁰²² burned¹¹⁹⁷ with fire⁷⁸⁴ unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ the midst³⁸²⁰ of heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ with darkness,⁶²⁰⁵ clouds,⁶⁰⁵¹ and thick darkness.⁶²⁰⁵

12  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ you out of the midst^{4480 8432} of the fire:⁷⁸⁴ ye⁸⁵⁹ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of the words,¹⁶⁹⁷ but saw⁷²⁰⁰ no³⁶⁹ similitude;⁸⁵⁴⁴ only²¹⁰⁸ ye heard a voice.⁶⁹⁶³

13  And he declared⁵⁰⁴⁶ unto you ⁸⁵³ his covenant,¹²⁸⁵ which⁸³⁴ he commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ you to perform,⁶²¹³ even ten⁶²³⁵ commandments;¹⁶⁹⁷ and he wrote³⁷⁸⁹ them upon⁵⁹²¹ two⁸¹⁴⁷ tables³⁸⁷¹ of stone.⁶⁸

14  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ me at that¹⁹³¹ time⁶²⁵⁶ to teach³⁹²⁵ you statutes²⁷⁰⁶ and judgments,⁴⁹⁴¹ that ye might do⁶²¹³ them in the land⁷⁷⁶ whither^{834 8033} ye⁸⁵⁹ go over⁵⁶⁷⁴ to possess³⁴²³ it.

15  Take ye therefore good heed^{8104 3966} unto yourselves;⁵³¹⁵ for³⁵⁸⁸ ye saw⁷²⁰⁰ no³⁸⁰⁸ manner³⁶⁰⁵ of similitude⁸⁵⁴⁴ on the day³¹¹⁷ that the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ you in Horeb²⁷²² out of the midst^{4480 8432} of the fire:⁷⁸⁴

16  Lest⁶⁴³⁵ ye corrupt⁷⁸⁴³ yourselves, and make⁶²¹³ you a graven image,⁶⁴⁵⁹ the similitude⁸⁵⁴⁴ of any³⁶⁰⁵ figure,⁵⁵⁶⁶ the likeness⁸⁴⁰³ of male²¹⁴⁵ or¹⁷⁶ female,⁵³⁴⁷

17  The likeness⁸⁴⁰³ of any³⁶⁰⁵ beast⁹²⁹ that⁸³⁴ is on the earth,⁷⁷⁶ the likeness⁸⁴⁰³ of any³⁶⁰⁵ winged³⁶⁷¹ fowl⁶⁸³³ that⁸³⁴ flieth⁵⁷⁷⁴ in the air,⁸⁰⁶⁴

18  The likeness⁸⁴⁰³ of any thing³⁶⁰⁵ that creepeth⁷⁴³⁰ on the ground,¹²⁷ the likeness⁸⁴⁰³ of any³⁶⁰⁵ fish¹⁷¹⁰ that⁸³⁴ is in the waters⁴³²⁵ beneath^{4480 8478} the earth:⁷⁷⁶

19  And lest⁶⁴³⁵ thou lift up⁵³⁷⁵ thine eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ unto heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ and when thou seest^{7200 853} the sun,⁸¹²¹ and the moon,³³⁹⁴ and the stars,³⁵⁵⁶ even all³⁶⁰⁵ the host⁶⁶³⁵ of heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ shouldest be driven⁵⁰⁸⁰ to worship⁷⁸¹² them, and serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ them, which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ hath divided^{2505 853} unto all³⁶⁰⁵ nations⁵⁹⁷¹ under⁸⁴⁷⁸ the whole³⁶⁰⁵ heaven.⁸⁰⁶⁴

20  But the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ hath taken³⁹⁴⁷ you, and brought you forth^{3318 853} out of the iron¹²⁷⁰ furnace,^{4480 3564} even out of Egypt,^{4480 4714} to be¹⁹⁶¹ unto him a people⁵⁹⁷¹ of inheritance,⁵¹⁵⁹ as ye are this²⁰⁸⁸ day.³¹¹⁷

21  Furthermore the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ was angry⁵⁹⁹ with me for your sakes,^{5921 1697} and swore⁷⁶⁵⁰ that I should not¹¹¹⁵ go over^{5674 853} Jordan,³³⁸³ and that I should not¹¹¹⁵ go in⁹³⁵ unto⁴¹³ that good²⁸⁹⁶ land,⁷⁷⁶ which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee for an inheritance:⁵¹⁵⁹

22  But³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁹⁵ must die⁴¹⁹¹ in this²⁰⁶³ land,⁷⁷⁶ I must not³⁶⁹ go over^{5674 853} Jordan:³³⁸³ but ye⁸⁵⁹ shall go over,⁵⁶⁷⁴ and possess^{3423 853} that²⁰⁶³ good²⁸⁹⁶ land.⁷⁷⁶

23  Take heed⁸¹⁰⁴ unto yourselves, lest⁶⁴³⁵ ye forget^{7911 853} the covenant¹²⁸⁵ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ which⁸³⁴ he made³⁷⁷² with⁵⁹⁷³ you, and make⁶²¹³ you a graven image,⁶⁴⁵⁹ or the likeness⁸⁵⁴⁴ of any³⁶⁰⁵ thing, which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ hath forbidden⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee.

24  For³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ is a consuming³⁹⁸ fire,⁷⁸⁴ even a jealous⁷⁰⁶⁷ God.⁴¹⁰

25  When³⁵⁸⁸ thou shalt beget³²⁰⁵ children,¹¹²¹ and children's¹¹²¹ children,¹¹²¹ and ye shall have remained long³⁴⁶² in the land,⁷⁷⁶ and shall corrupt⁷⁸⁴³ yourselves, and make⁶²¹³ a graven image,⁶⁴⁵⁹ or the likeness⁸⁵⁴⁴ of any³⁶⁰⁵ thing, and shall do⁶²¹³ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God,⁴³⁰ to provoke him to anger:³⁷⁰⁷

26  I call^{5749 853} heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ and earth⁷⁷⁶ to witness⁵⁷⁴⁹ against you this day,³¹¹⁷ that³⁵⁸⁸ ye shall soon⁴¹¹⁸ utterly perish^{6 6} from off^{4480 5921} the land⁷⁷⁶ whereunto^{834 8033} ye⁸⁵⁹ go over^{5674 853} Jordan³³⁸³ to possess³⁴²³ it; ye shall not³⁸⁰⁸ prolong⁷⁴⁸ your days³¹¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ it, but³⁵⁸⁸ shall utterly be destroyed.^{8045 8045}

27  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ shall scatter⁶³²⁷ you among the nations,⁵⁹⁷¹ and ye shall be left⁷⁶⁰⁴ few⁴⁹⁶² in number⁴⁵⁵⁷ among the heathen,¹⁴⁷¹ whither^{834 8033} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ shall lead⁵⁰⁹⁰ you.

28  And there⁸⁰³³ ye shall serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ gods,⁴³⁰ the work⁴⁶³⁹ of men's¹²⁰ hands,³⁰²⁷ wood⁶⁰⁸⁶ and stone,⁶⁸ which⁸³⁴ neither³⁸⁰⁸ see,⁷²⁰⁰ nor³⁸⁰⁸ hear,⁸⁰⁸⁵ nor³⁸⁰⁸ eat,³⁹⁸ nor³⁸⁰⁸ smell.⁷³⁰⁶

29  But if from thence^{4480 8033} thou shalt seek^{1245 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God,⁴³⁰ thou shalt find⁴⁶⁷² him, if³⁵⁸⁸ thou seek¹⁸⁷⁵ him with all³⁶⁰⁵ thy heart³⁸²⁴ and with all³⁶⁰⁵ thy soul.⁵³¹⁵

30  When thou art in tribulation,⁶⁸⁶² and all³⁶⁰⁵ these⁴²⁸ things¹⁶⁹⁷ are come⁴⁶⁷² upon thee, even in the latter³¹⁹ days,³¹¹⁷ if thou turn⁷⁷²⁵ to⁵⁷⁰⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God,⁴³⁰ and shalt be obedient⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto his voice;⁶⁹⁶³

31  (For³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ is a merciful⁷³⁴⁹ God;) ⁴¹⁰ he will not³⁸⁰⁸ forsake⁷⁵⁰³ thee, neither³⁸⁰⁸ destroy⁷⁸⁴³ thee, nor³⁸⁰⁸ forget^{7911 853} the covenant¹²⁸⁵ of thy fathers¹ which⁸³⁴ he swore⁷⁶⁵⁰ unto them.

32  For³⁵⁸⁸ ask⁷⁵⁹² now⁴⁹⁹⁴ of the days³¹¹⁷ that are past,⁷²²³ which⁸³⁴ were¹⁹⁶¹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ thee, since⁴⁴⁸⁰ the day³¹¹⁷ that⁸³⁴ God⁴³⁰ created¹²⁵⁴ man¹²⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,⁷⁷⁶ and ask from the one side^{4480 7097} of heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ the other,^{7097 8064} whether there hath been¹⁹⁶¹ any such thing as this²⁰⁸⁸ great¹⁴¹⁹ thing¹⁶⁹⁷ is, or¹⁷⁶ hath been heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ like it?³⁶⁴⁴

33  Did ever people⁵⁹⁷¹ hear⁸⁰⁸⁵ the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of God⁴³⁰ speaking¹⁶⁹⁶ out of the midst^{4480 8432} of the fire,⁷⁸⁴ as⁸³⁴ thou⁸⁵⁹ hast heard,⁸⁰⁸⁵ and live?²⁴²¹

34  Or¹⁷⁶ hath God⁴³⁰ attempted⁵²⁵⁴ to go⁹³⁵ and take³⁹⁴⁷ him a nation¹⁴⁷¹ from the midst^{4480 7130} of another nation,¹⁴⁷¹ by temptations,⁴⁵³¹ by signs,²²⁶ and by wonders,⁴¹⁵⁹ and by war,⁴⁴²¹ and by a mighty²³⁸⁹ hand,³⁰²⁷ and by a stretched out⁵¹⁸⁶ arm,²²²⁰ and by great¹⁴¹⁹ terrors,⁴¹⁷² according to all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ did⁶²¹³ for you in Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ before your eyes?⁵⁸⁶⁹

35  Unto thee⁸⁵⁹ it was showed,⁷²⁰⁰ that thou mightest know³⁰⁴⁵ that³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ he¹⁹³¹ is God;⁴³⁰ there is none³⁶⁹ else⁵⁷⁵⁰ beside^{4480 905} him.

36  Out of⁴⁴⁸⁰ heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ he made thee to hear^{8085 853} his voice,⁶⁹⁶³ that he might instruct³²⁵⁶ thee: and upon⁵⁹²¹ earth⁷⁷⁶ he showed⁷²⁰⁰ thee ⁸⁵³ his great¹⁴¹⁹ fire;⁷⁸⁴ and thou heardest⁸⁰⁸⁵ his words¹⁶⁹⁷ out of the midst^{4480 8432} of the fire.⁷⁸⁴

37  And because^{8478 3588} he loved^{157 853} thy fathers,¹ therefore he chose⁹⁷⁷ their seed²²³³ after³¹⁰ them, and brought thee out³³¹⁸ in his sight⁶⁴⁴⁰ with his mighty¹⁴¹⁹ power³⁵⁸¹ out of Egypt;^{4480 4714}

38  To drive out³⁴²³ nations¹⁴⁷¹ from before^{4480 6440} thee greater¹⁴¹⁹ and mightier⁶⁰⁹⁹ than⁴⁴⁸⁰ thou art, to bring thee in,⁹³⁵ to give⁵⁴¹⁴ thee ⁸⁵³ their land⁷⁷⁶ for an inheritance,⁵¹⁵⁹ as it is this²⁰⁸⁸ day.³¹¹⁷

39  Know³⁰⁴⁵ therefore this day,³¹¹⁷ and consider⁷⁷²⁵ it in⁴¹³ thine heart,³⁸²⁴ that³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ he¹⁹³¹ is God⁴³⁰ in heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ above,^{4480 4605} and upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ beneath:^{4480 8478} there is none³⁶⁹ else.⁵⁷⁵⁰

40  Thou shalt keep⁸¹⁰⁴ therefore ⁸⁵³ his statutes,²⁷⁰⁶ and his commandments,⁴⁶⁸⁷ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ command⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee this day,³¹¹⁷ that⁸³⁴ it may go well³¹⁹⁰ with thee, and with thy children¹¹²¹ after³¹⁰ thee, and that⁴⁶¹⁶ thou mayest prolong⁷⁴⁸ thy days³¹¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,¹²⁷ which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ giveth⁵⁴¹⁴ thee, forever.^{3605 3117}

41  Then²²⁷ Moses⁴⁸⁷² severed⁹¹⁴ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ cities⁵⁸⁹² on this side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan³³⁸³ toward the sunrising;^{4217 8121}

42  That the slayer⁷⁵²³ might flee⁵¹²⁷ thither,⁸⁰³³ which⁸³⁴ should kill^{7523 853} his neighbor⁷⁴⁵³ unawares,^{1097 1847} and hated⁸¹³⁰ him not³⁸⁰⁸ in times past;^{4480 8543 8032} and that fleeing⁵¹²⁷ unto⁴¹³ one²⁵⁹ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ these⁴¹¹ cities⁵⁸⁹² he might live:²⁴²⁵

43  Namely, ⁸⁵³ Bezer¹²²¹ in the wilderness,⁴⁰⁵⁷ in the plain⁴³³⁴ country,⁷⁷⁶ of the Reubenites;⁷²⁰⁶ and Ramoth⁷²¹⁶ in Gilead,¹⁵⁶⁸ of the Gadites;¹⁴²⁵ and Golan¹⁴⁷⁴ in Bashan,¹³¹⁶ of the Manassites.⁴⁵²⁰

44  And this²⁰⁶³ is the law⁸⁴⁵¹ which⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² set⁷⁷⁶⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel:³⁴⁷⁸

45  These⁴²⁸ are the testimonies,⁵⁷¹³ and the statutes,²⁷⁰⁶ and the judgments,⁴⁹⁴¹ which⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ after they came forth³³¹⁸ out of Egypt,^{4480 4714}

46  On this side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan,³³⁸³ in the valley¹⁵¹⁶ over against⁴¹³⁶ Beth-peor,¹⁰⁴⁷ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Sihon⁵⁵¹¹ king⁴⁴²⁸ of the Amorites,⁵⁶⁷ who⁸³⁴ dwelt³⁴²⁷ at Heshbon,²⁸⁰⁹ whom⁸³⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ smote,⁵²²¹ after they were come forth³³¹⁸ out of Egypt:^{4480 4714}

47  And they possessed^{3423 853} his land,⁷⁷⁶ and the land⁷⁷⁶ of Og⁵⁷⁴⁷ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Bashan,¹³¹⁶ two⁸¹⁴⁷ kings⁴⁴²⁸ of the Amorites,⁵⁶⁷ which⁸³⁴ were on this side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan³³⁸³ toward the sunrising;^{4217 8121}

48  From Aroer,^{4480 6177} which⁸³⁴ is by⁵⁹²¹ the bank⁸¹⁹³ of the river⁵¹⁵⁸ Arnon,⁷⁶⁹ even unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ mount²⁰²² Zion,⁷⁸⁶⁵ which¹⁹³¹ is Hermon,²⁷⁶⁸

49  And all³⁶⁰⁵ the plain⁶¹⁶⁰ on this side⁵⁶⁷⁶ Jordan³³⁸³ eastward,⁴²¹⁷ even unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ the sea³²²⁰ of the plain,⁶¹⁶⁰ under⁸⁴⁷⁸ the springs⁷⁹⁴ of Pisgah.⁶⁴⁴⁹

1 καὶ νῦν Ισραηλ ἄκουε τῶν δικαιωμάτων καὶ τῶν κριμάτων ὅσα ἐγὼ διδάσκω ὑμᾶς σήμερον ποιεῖν ἵνα ζῆτε καὶ πολυπλασιασθῆτε καὶ εἰσελθόντες κληρονομήσητε τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν

2 οὐ προσθήσετε πρὸς τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ἀφελεῖτε ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ φυλάσσεσθε τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον

3 οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ἑωράκασιν πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τῷ Βεελφεγωρ ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ὅστις ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω Βεελφεγωρ ἐξέτριψεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν ἐξ ὑμῶν

4 ὑμεῖς δὲ οἱ προσκείμενοι κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ὑμῶν ζῆτε πάντες ἐν τῇ σήμερον

5 ἴδετε δέδειχα ὑμῖν δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις καθὰ ἐνετείλατό μοι κύριος ποιῆσαι οὕτως ἐν τῇ γῇ εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκεῖ κληρονομεῖν αὐτήν

6 καὶ φυλάξεσθε καὶ ποιήσετε ὅτι αὕτη ἡ σοφία ὑμῶν καὶ ἡ σύνεσις ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ὅσοι ἐὰν ἀκούσωσιν πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἰδοὺ λαὸς σοφὸς καὶ ἐπιστήμων τὸ ἔθνος τὸ μέγα τοῦτο

7 ὅτι ποῖον ἔθνος μέγα ᾧ ἐστιν αὐτῷ θεὸς ἐγγίζων αὐτοῖς ὡς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν αὐτὸν ἐπικαλεσώμεθα

8 καὶ ποῖον ἔθνος μέγα ᾧ ἐστιν αὐτῷ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα δίκαια κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον τοῦτον ὃν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν σήμερον

9 πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ φύλαξον τὴν ψυχήν σου σφόδρα μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἑωράκασιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου καὶ μὴ ἀποστήτωσαν ἀπὸ τῆς καρδίας σου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου καὶ συμβιβάσεις τοὺς υἱούς σου καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν σου

10 ἡμέραν ἣν ἔστητε ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ἐν Χωρηβ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ὅτε εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ἐκκλησίασον πρός με τὸν λαόν καὶ ἀκουσάτωσαν τὰ ῥήματά μου ὅπως μάθωσιν φοβεῖσθαί με πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς αὐτοὶ ζῶσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶν διδάξωσιν

11 καὶ προσήλθετε καὶ ἔστητε ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος καὶ τὸ ὄρος ἐκαίετο πυρὶ ἕως τοῦ οὐρανοῦ σκότος γνόφος θύελλα φωνὴ μεγάλη

12 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός φωνὴν ῥημάτων ὑμεῖς ἠκούσατε καὶ ὁμοίωμα οὐκ εἴδετε ἀλλ᾽ ἢ φωνήν

13 καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν ὑμῖν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ ἣν ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν ποιεῖν τὰ δέκα ῥήματα καὶ ἔγραψεν αὐτὰ ἐπὶ δύο πλάκας λιθίνας

14 καὶ ἐμοὶ ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ διδάξαι ὑμᾶς δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις ποιεῖν αὐτὰ ὑμᾶς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκεῖ κληρονομεῖν αὐτήν

15 καὶ φυλάξεσθε σφόδρα τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν ὅτι οὐκ εἴδετε ὁμοίωμα ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν Χωρηβ ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός

16 μὴ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πᾶσαν εἰκόνα ὁμοίωμα ἀρσενικοῦ ἢ θηλυκοῦ

17 ὁμοίωμα παντὸς κτήνους τῶν ὄντων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ὀρνέου πτερωτοῦ ὃ πέταται ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανόν

18 ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἑρπετοῦ ὃ ἕρπει ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἰχθύος ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν ὑποκάτω τῆς γῆς

19 καὶ μὴ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδὼν τὸν ἥλιον καὶ τὴν σελήνην καὶ τοὺς ἀστέρας καὶ πάντα τὸν κόσμον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πλανηθεὶς προσκυνήσῃς αὐτοῖς καὶ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς ἃ ἀπένειμεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτὰ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τοῖς ὑποκάτω τοῦ οὐρανοῦ

20 ὑμᾶς δὲ ἔλαβεν ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἐξήγαγεν ὑμᾶς ἐκ τῆς καμίνου τῆς σιδηρᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου εἶναι αὐτῷ λαὸν ἔγκληρον ὡς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ

21 καὶ κύριος ἐθυμώθη μοι περὶ τῶν λεγομένων ὑφ᾽ ὑμῶν καὶ ὤμοσεν ἵνα μὴ διαβῶ τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον καὶ ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθω εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρῳ

22 ἐγὼ γὰρ ἀποθνῄσκω ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐ διαβαίνω τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον ὑμεῖς δὲ διαβαίνετε καὶ κληρονομήσετε τὴν γῆν τὴν ἀγαθὴν ταύτην

23 προσέχετε ὑμεῖς μὴ ἐπιλάθησθε τὴν διαθήκην κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ἣν διέθετο πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πάντων ὧν συνέταξεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου

24 ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πῦρ καταναλίσκον ἐστίν θεὸς ζηλωτής

25 ἐὰν δὲ γεννήσῃς υἱοὺς καὶ υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν σου καὶ χρονίσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα παντὸς καὶ ποιήσητε τὰ πονηρὰ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν παροργίσαι αὐτόν

26 διαμαρτύρομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον τόν τε οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν ὅτι ἀπωλείᾳ ἀπολεῖσθε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι αὐτήν οὐχὶ πολυχρονιεῖτε ἡμέρας ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐκτριβῇ ἐκτριβήσεσθε

27 καὶ διασπερεῖ κύριος ὑμᾶς ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ καταλειφθήσεσθε ὀλίγοι ἀριθμῷ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς εἰσάξει κύριος ὑμᾶς ἐκεῖ

28 καὶ λατρεύσετε ἐκεῖ θεοῖς ἑτέροις ἔργοις χειρῶν ἀνθρώπων ξύλοις καὶ λίθοις οἳ οὐκ ὄψονται οὐδὲ μὴ ἀκούσωσιν οὔτε μὴ φάγωσιν οὔτε μὴ ὀσφρανθῶσιν

29 καὶ ζητήσετε ἐκεῖ κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν καὶ εὑρήσετε ὅταν ἐκζητήσητε αὐτὸν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς σου ἐν τῇ θλίψει σου

30 καὶ εὑρήσουσίν σε πάντες οἱ λόγοι οὗτοι ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτῳ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ ἐπιστραφήσῃ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου καὶ εἰσακούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ

31 ὅτι θεὸς οἰκτίρμων κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψει σε οὐδὲ μὴ ἐκτρίψει σε οὐκ ἐπιλήσεται τὴν διαθήκην τῶν πατέρων σου ἣν ὤμοσεν αὐτοῖς

32 ἐπερωτήσατε ἡμέρας προτέρας τὰς γενομένας προτέρας σου ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς ἔκτισεν ὁ θεὸς ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἕως ἄκρου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ εἰ γέγονεν κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ μέγα τοῦτο εἰ ἤκουσται τοιοῦτο

33 εἰ ἀκήκοεν ἔθνος φωνὴν θεοῦ ζῶντος λαλοῦντος ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός ὃν τρόπον ἀκήκοας σὺ καὶ ἔζησας

34 εἰ ἐπείρασεν ὁ θεὸς εἰσελθὼν λαβεῖν ἑαυτῷ ἔθνος ἐκ μέσου ἔθνους ἐν πειρασμῷ καὶ ἐν σημείοις καὶ ἐν τέρασιν καὶ ἐν πολέμῳ καὶ ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ καὶ ἐν ὁράμασιν μεγάλοις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἐνώπιόν σου βλέποντος

35 ὥστε εἰδῆσαί σε ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὗτος θεός ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτοῦ

36 ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀκουστὴ ἐγένετο ἡ φωνὴ αὐτοῦ παιδεῦσαί σε καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔδειξέν σοι τὸ πῦρ αὐτοῦ τὸ μέγα καὶ τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ ἤκουσας ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός

37 διὰ τὸ ἀγαπῆσαι αὐτὸν τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ ἐξελέξατο τὸ σπέρμα αὐτῶν μετ᾽ αὐτοὺς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξήγαγέν σε αὐτὸς ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ τῇ μεγάλῃ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου

38 ἐξολεθρεῦσαι ἔθνη μεγάλα καὶ ἰσχυρότερά σου πρὸ προσώπου σου εἰσαγαγεῖν σε δοῦναί σοι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν κληρονομεῖν καθὼς ἔχεις σήμερον

39 καὶ γνώσῃ σήμερον καὶ ἐπιστραφήσῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὗτος θεὸς ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἄνω καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς κάτω καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτοῦ

40 καὶ φυλάξῃ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου μετὰ σέ ὅπως μακροήμεροι γένησθε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἧς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας

41 τότε ἀφώρισεν Μωυσῆς τρεῖς πόλεις πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου

42 φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ τὸν φονευτήν ὃς ἂν φονεύσῃ τὸν πλησίον οὐκ εἰδὼς καὶ οὗτος οὐ μισῶν αὐτὸν πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης καὶ καταφεύξεται εἰς μίαν τῶν πόλεων τούτων καὶ ζήσεται

43 τὴν Βοσορ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ πεδινῇ τῷ Ρουβην καὶ τὴν Ραμωθ ἐν Γαλααδ τῷ Γαδδι καὶ τὴν Γαυλων ἐν Βασαν τῷ Μανασση

44 οὗτος ὁ νόμος ὃν παρέθετο Μωυσῆς ἐνώπιον υἱῶν Ισραηλ

45 ταῦτα τὰ μαρτύρια καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου

46 ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν φάραγγι ἐγγὺς οἴκου Φογωρ ἐν γῇ Σηων βασιλέως τῶν Αμορραίων ὃς κατῴκει ἐν Εσεβων οὓς ἐπάταξεν Μωυσῆς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου

47 καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν γῆν Ωγ βασιλέως τῆς Βασαν δύο βασιλέων τῶν Αμορραίων οἳ ἦσαν πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατ᾽ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου

48 ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ Σηων ὅ ἐστιν Αερμων

49 πᾶσαν τὴν Αραβα πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατ᾽ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου ὑπὸ Ασηδωθ τὴν λαξευτήν

‎2 ‏לֹ֣א תֹסִ֗פוּ עַל־הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ מְצַוֶּ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א תִגְרְע֖וּ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ לִשְׁמֹ֗ר אֶת־מִצְוֹת֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְכֶֽם׃

‎3 ‏עֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ הָֽרֹאֹ֔ת אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה בְּבַ֣עַל פְּע֑וֹר כִּ֣י כָל־הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י בַֽעַל־פְּע֔וֹר הִשְׁמִיד֛וֹ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃

‎4 ‏וְאַתֶּם֙ הַדְּבֵקִ֔ים בַּיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם חַיִּ֥ים כֻּלְּכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם׃

‎5 ‏רְאֵ֣ה׀ לִמַּ֣דְתִּי אֶתְכֶ֗ם חֻקִּים֙ וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֔ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוַּ֖נִי יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑י לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֔ן בְּקֶ֣רֶב הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם בָּאִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

‎6 ‏וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֮ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם֒ כִּ֣י הִ֤וא חָכְמַתְכֶם֙ וּבִ֣ינַתְכֶ֔ם לְעֵינֵ֖י הָעַמִּ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשְׁמְע֗וּן אֵ֚ת כָּל־הַחֻקִּ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וְאָמְר֗וּ רַ֚ק עַם־חָכָ֣ם וְנָב֔וֹן הַגּ֥וֹי הַגָּד֖וֹל הַזֶּֽה׃

‎7 ‏כִּ֚י מִי־ג֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר־ל֥וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים קְרֹבִ֣ים אֵלָ֑יו כַּיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ בְּכָל־קָרְאֵ֖נוּ אֵלָֽיו׃

‎8 ‏וּמִי֙ גּ֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר־ל֛וֹ חֻקִּ֥ים וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים צַדִּיקִ֑ם כְּכֹל֙ הַתּוֹרָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם׃

‎9 ‏רַ֡ק הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְךָ֩ וּשְׁמֹ֨ר נַפְשְׁךָ֜ מְאֹ֗ד פֶּן־תִּשְׁכַּ֨ח אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר־רָא֣וּ עֵינֶ֗יךָ וּפֶן־יָס֙וּרוּ֙ מִלְּבָ֣בְךָ֔ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑יךָ וְהוֹדַעְתָּ֥ם לְבָנֶ֖יךָ וְלִבְנֵ֥י בָנֶֽיךָ׃

‎10 ‏י֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָמַ֜דְתָּ לִפְנֵ֨י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶיךָ֮ בְּחֹרֵב֒ בֶּאֱמֹ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י הַקְהֶל־לִי֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וְאַשְׁמִעֵ֖ם אֶת־דְּבָרָ֑י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִלְמְד֜וּן לְיִרְאָ֣ה אֹתִ֗י כָּל־הַיָּמִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵ֤ם חַיִּים֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה וְאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם יְלַמֵּדֽוּן׃

‎11 ‏וַתִּקְרְב֥וּן וַתַּֽעַמְד֖וּן תַּ֣חַת הָהָ֑ר וְהָהָ֞ר בֹּעֵ֤ר בָּאֵשׁ֙ עַד־לֵ֣ב הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם חֹ֖שֶׁךְ עָנָ֥ן וַעֲרָפֶֽל׃

‎12 ‏וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם מִתּ֣וֹךְ הָאֵ֑שׁ ק֤וֹל דְּבָרִים֙ אַתֶּ֣ם שֹׁמְעִ֔ים וּתְמוּנָ֛ה אֵינְכֶ֥ם רֹאִ֖ים זוּלָתִ֥י קֽוֹל׃

‎13 ‏וַיַּגֵּ֨ד לָכֶ֜ם אֶת־בְּרִית֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה אֶתְכֶם֙ לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת עֲשֶׂ֖רֶת הַדְּבָרִ֑ים וַֽיִּכְתְּבֵ֔ם עַל־שְׁנֵ֖י לֻח֥וֹת אֲבָנִֽים׃

‎14 ‏וְאֹתִ֞י צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא לְלַמֵּ֣ד אֶתְכֶ֔ם חֻקִּ֖ים וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֑ים לַעֲשֹׂתְכֶ֣ם אֹתָ֔ם בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

‎15 ‏וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם מְאֹ֖ד לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶ֑ם כִּ֣י לֹ֤א רְאִיתֶם֙ כָּל־תְּמוּנָ֔ה בְּי֗וֹם דִּבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה אֲלֵיכֶ֛ם בְּחֹרֵ֖ב מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ׃

‎16 ‏פֶּ֨ן־תַּשְׁחִת֔וּן וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם לָכֶ֛ם פֶּ֖סֶל תְּמוּנַ֣ת כָּל־סָ֑מֶל תַּבְנִ֥ית זָכָ֖ר א֥וֹ נְקֵבָֽה׃

‎17 ‏תַּבְנִ֕ית כָּל־בְּהֵמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאָ֑רֶץ תַּבְנִית֙ כָּל־צִפּ֣וֹר כָּנָ֔ף אֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּע֖וּף בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

‎18 ‏תַּבְנִ֕ית כָּל־רֹמֵ֖שׂ בָּאֲדָמָ֑ה תַּבְנִ֛ית כָּל־דָּגָ֥ה אֲשֶׁר־בַּמַּ֖יִם מִתַּ֥חַת לָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎19 ‏וּפֶן־תִּשָּׂ֨א עֵינֶ֜יךָ הַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָה וְֽ֠רָאִיתָ אֶת־הַשֶּׁ֨מֶשׁ וְאֶת־הַיָּרֵ֜חַ וְאֶת־הַכּֽוֹכָבִ֗ים כֹּ֚ל צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְנִדַּחְתָּ֛ וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם וַעֲבַדְתָּ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָלַ֜ק יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֹתָ֔ם לְכֹל֙ הָֽעַמִּ֔ים תַּ֖חַת כָּל־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

‎20 ‏וְאֶתְכֶם֙ לָקַ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה וַיּוֹצִ֥א אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִכּ֥וּר הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם לִהְי֥וֹת ל֛וֹ לְעַ֥ם נַחֲלָ֖ה כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

‎21 ‏וַֽיהוָ֥ה הִתְאַנֶּף־בִּ֖י עַל־דִּבְרֵיכֶ֑ם וַיִּשָּׁבַ֗ע לְבִלְתִּ֤י עָבְרִי֙ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וּלְבִלְתִּי־בֹא֙ אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָֽה׃

‎22 ‏כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֥י מֵת֙ בָּאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את אֵינֶ֥נִּי עֹבֵ֖ר אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְאַתֶּם֙ עֹֽבְרִ֔ים וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֕ם אֶת־הָאָ֥רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃

‎23 ‏הִשָּׁמְר֣וּ לָכֶ֗ם פֶּֽן־תִּשְׁכְּחוּ֙ אֶת־בְּרִ֤ית יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖ת עִמָּכֶ֑ם וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֨ם לָכֶ֥ם פֶּ֙סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוְּךָ֖ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

‎24 ‏כִּ֚י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֵ֥שׁ אֹכְלָ֖ה ה֑וּא אֵ֖ל קַנָּֽא׃ פ

‎25 ‏כִּֽי־תוֹלִ֤יד בָּנִים֙ וּבְנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים וְנוֹשַׁנְתֶּ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְהִשְׁחַתֶּ֗ם וַעֲשִׂ֤יתֶם פֶּ֙סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם הָרַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה־אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃

‎26 ‏הַעִידֹתִי֩ בָכֶ֨ם הַיּ֜וֹם אֶת־הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם וְאֶת־הָאָ֗רֶץ כִּֽי־אָבֹ֣ד תֹּאבֵדוּן֮ מַהֵר֒ מֵעַ֣ל הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם עֹבְרִ֧ים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֛ן שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּ לֹֽא־תַאֲרִיכֻ֤ן יָמִים֙ עָלֶ֔יהָ כִּ֥י הִשָּׁמֵ֖ד תִּשָּׁמֵדֽוּן׃

‎27 ‏וְהֵפִ֧יץ יְהוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם בָּעַמִּ֑ים וְנִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙ מְתֵ֣י מִסְפָּ֔ר בַּגּוֹיִ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְנַהֵ֧ג יְהוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם שָֽׁמָּה׃

‎28 ‏וַעֲבַדְתֶּם־שָׁ֣ם אֱלֹהִ֔ים מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָ֑ם עֵ֣ץ וָאֶ֔בֶן אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יִרְאוּן֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּן וְלֹ֥א יֹֽאכְל֖וּן וְלֹ֥א יְרִיחֻֽן׃

‎29 ‏וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם מִשָּׁ֛ם אֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ וּמָצָ֑אתָ כִּ֣י תִדְרְשֶׁ֔נּוּ בְּכָל־לְבָבְךָ֖ וּבְכָל־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃

‎30 ‏בַּצַּ֣ר לְךָ֔ וּמְצָא֕וּךָ כֹּ֖ל הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה בְּאַחֲרִית֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים וְשַׁבְתָּ֙ עַד־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ בְּקֹלֽוֹ׃

‎31 ‏כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל רַחוּם֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֣א יַשְׁחִיתֶ֑ךָ וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁכַּח֙ אֶת־בְּרִ֣ית אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לָהֶֽם׃

‎32 ‏כִּ֣י שְׁאַל־נָא֩ לְיָמִ֨ים רִֽאשֹׁנִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר־הָי֣וּ לְפָנֶ֗יךָ לְמִן־הַיּוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁר֩ בָּרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ אָדָם֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ וּלְמִקְצֵ֥ה הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְעַד־קְצֵ֣ה הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם הֲנִֽהְיָ֗ה כַּדָּבָ֤ר הַגָּדוֹל֙ הַזֶּ֔ה א֖וֹ הֲנִשְׁמַ֥ע כָּמֹֽהוּ׃

‎33 ‏הֲשָׁ֣מַֽע עָם֩ ק֨וֹל אֱלֹהִ֜ים מְדַבֵּ֧ר מִתּוֹךְ־הָאֵ֛שׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר־שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ אַתָּ֖ה וַיֶּֽחִי׃

‎34 ‏א֣וֹ׀ הֲנִסָּ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֗ים לָ֠בוֹא לָקַ֨חַת ל֣וֹ גוֹי֮ מִקֶּ֣רֶב גּוֹי֒ בְּמַסֹּת֩ בְּאֹתֹ֨ת וּבְמוֹפְתִ֜ים וּבְמִלְחָמָ֗ה וּבְיָ֤ד חֲזָקָה֙ וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֔ה וּבְמוֹרָאִ֖ים גְּדֹלִ֑ים כְּ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֨ה לָכֶ֜ם יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֛ם בְּמִצְרַ֖יִם לְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃

‎35 ‏אַתָּה֙ הָרְאֵ֣תָ לָדַ֔עַת כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה ה֣וּא הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ין ע֖וֹד מִלְבַדּֽוֹ׃

‎36 ‏מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם הִשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ֥ אֶת־קֹל֖וֹ לְיַסְּרֶ֑ךָּ וְעַל־הָאָ֗רֶץ הֶרְאֲךָ֙ אֶת־אִשּׁ֣וֹ הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה וּדְבָרָ֥יו שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ׃

‎37 ‏וְתַ֗חַת כִּ֤י אָהַב֙ אֶת־אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ וַיִּבְחַ֥ר בְּזַרְע֖וֹ אַחֲרָ֑יו וַיּוֹצִֽאֲךָ֧ בְּפָנָ֛יו בְּכֹח֥וֹ הַגָּדֹ֖ל מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

‎38 ‏לְהוֹרִ֗ישׁ גּוֹיִ֛ם גְּדֹלִ֧ים וַעֲצֻמִ֛ים מִמְּךָ֖ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ לַהֲבִֽיאֲךָ֗ לָֽתֶת־לְךָ֧ אֶת־אַרְצָ֛ם נַחֲלָ֖ה כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

‎39 ‏וְיָדַעְתָּ֣ הַיּ֗וֹם וַהֲשֵׁבֹתָ֮ אֶל־לְבָבֶךָ֒ כִּ֤י יְהוָה֙ ה֣וּא הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם מִמַּ֔עַל וְעַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ מִתָּ֑חַת אֵ֖ין עֽוֹד׃

‎40 ‏וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֞ אֶת־חֻקָּ֣יו וְאֶת־מִצְוֹתָ֗יו אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֤י מְצַוְּךָ֙ הַיּ֔וֹם אֲשֶׁר֙ יִיטַ֣ב לְךָ֔ וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ אַחֲרֶ֑יךָ וּלְמַ֨עַן תַּאֲרִ֤יךְ יָמִים֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ פ

‎41 ‏אָ֣ז יַבְדִּ֤יל מֹשֶׁה֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ עָרִ֔ים בְּעֵ֖בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן מִזְרְחָ֖ה שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃

‎42 ‏לָנֻ֨ס שָׁ֜מָּה רוֹצֵ֗חַ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִרְצַ֤ח אֶת־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּבְלִי־דַ֔עַת וְה֛וּא לֹא־שֹׂנֵ֥א ל֖וֹ מִתְּמ֣וֹל שִׁלְשׁ֑וֹם וְנָ֗ס אֶל־אַחַ֛ת מִן־הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖ל וָחָֽי׃

‎43 ‏אֶת־בֶּ֧צֶר בַּמִּדְבָּ֛ר בְּאֶ֥רֶץ הַמִּישֹׁ֖ר לָרֻֽאוּבֵנִ֑י¹ וְאֶת־רָאמֹ֤ת בַּגִּלְעָד֙ לַגָּדִ֔י וְאֶת־גּוֹלָ֥ן בַּבָּשָׁ֖ן לַֽמְנַשִּֽׁי׃

‎44 ‏וְזֹ֖את הַתּוֹרָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֣ם מֹשֶׁ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

‎45 ‏אֵ֚לֶּה הָֽעֵדֹ֔ת וְהַֽחֻקִּ֖ים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

‎46 ‏בְּעֵ֨בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֜ן בַּגַּ֗יְא מ֚וּל בֵּ֣ית פְּע֔וֹר בְּאֶ֗רֶץ סִיחֹן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בְּחֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִכָּ֤ה מֹשֶׁה֙ וּבְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

‎47 ‏וַיִּֽירְשׁ֨וּ אֶת־אַרְצ֜וֹ וְאֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ׀ ע֣וֹג מֶֽלֶךְ־הַבָּשָׁ֗ן שְׁנֵי֙ מַלְכֵ֣י הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן מִזְרַ֖ח שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃

‎48 ‏מֵעֲרֹעֵ֞ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־שְׂפַת־נַ֧חַל אַרְנֹ֛ן וְעַד־הַ֥ר שִׂיאֹ֖ן ה֥וּא חֶרְמֽוֹן׃

‎49 ‏וְכָל־הָ֨עֲרָבָ֜ה עֵ֤בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה וְעַ֖ד יָ֣ם הָעֲרָבָ֑ה תַּ֖חַת אַשְׁדֹּ֥ת הַפִּסְגָּֽה׃ פ

Vul

1 Et nunc, Israël, audi præcepta et judicia, quæ ego doceo te: ut faciens ea, vivas, et ingrediens possideas terram, quam Dominus Deus patrum vestrorum daturus est vobis.

2 Non addetis ad verbum, quod vobis loquor, nec auferetis ex eo: custodite mandata Domini Dei vestri, quæ ego præcipio vobis.

3 Oculi vestri viderunt omnia quæ fecit Dominus contra Beelphegor, quomodo contriverit omnes cultores ejus de medio vestri.

4 Vos autem qui adhæretis Domino Deo vestro, vivitis universi usque in præsentem diem.

5 Scitis quod docuerim vos præcepta atque justitias, sicut mandavit mihi Dominus Deus meus: sic facietis ea in terra, quam possessuri estis:

6 et observabitis et implebitis opere. Hæc est enim vestra sapientia, et intellectus coram populis, ut audientes universa præcepta hæc, dicant: En populus sapiens et intelligens, gens magna.

7 Nec est alia natio tam grandis, quæ habeat deos appropinquantes sibi, sicut Deus noster adest cunctis obsecrationibus nostris.

8 Quæ est enim alia gens sic inclyta, ut habeat cæremonias, justaque judicia, et universam legem, quam ego proponam hodie ante oculos vestros?

9 Custodi igitur temetipsum, et animam tuam sollicite. Ne obliviscaris verborum, quæ viderunt oculi tui, et ne excidant de corde tuo cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ. Docebis ea filios ac nepotes tuos,

10 a die in quo stetisti coram Domino Deo tuo in Horeb, quando Dominus locutus est mihi, dicens: Congrega ad me populum, ut audiant sermones meos, et discant timere me omni tempore quo vivunt in terra, doceantque filios suos.

11 Et accessistis ad radices montis, qui ardebat usque ad cælum: erantque in eo tenebræ, et nubes, et caligo.

12 Locutusque est Dominus ad vos de medio ignis. Vocem verborum ejus audistis, et formam penitus non vidistis.

13 Et ostendit vobis pactum suum, quod præcepit ut faceretis, et decem verba, quæ scripsit in duabus tabulis lapideis.

14 Mihique mandavit in illo tempore ut docerem vos cæremonias et judicia, quæ facere deberetis in terra, quam possessuri estis.

15 Custodite igitur sollicite animas vestras. Non vidistis aliquam similitudinem in die, qua locutus est vobis Dominus in Horeb de medio ignis:

16 ne forte decepti faciatis vobis sculptam similitudinem, aut imaginem masculi vel feminæ:

17 similitudinem omnium jumentorum, quæ sunt super terram, vel avium sub cælo volantium,

18 atque reptilium, quæ moventur in terra, sive piscium qui sub terra morantur in aquis:

19 ne forte elevatis oculis ad cælum, videas solem et lunam, et omnia astra cæli, et errore deceptus adores ea, et colas quæ creavit Dominus Deus tuus in ministerium cunctis gentibus, quæ sub cælo sunt.

20 Vos autem tulit Dominus, et eduxit de fornace ferrea Ægypti, ut haberet populum hæreditarium, sicut est in præsenti die.

21 Iratusque est Dominus contra me propter sermones vestros, et juravit ut non transirem Jordanem, nec ingrederer terram optimam, quam daturus est vobis.

22 Ecce morior in hac humo; non transibo Jordanem: vos transibitis, et possidebitis terram egregiam.

23 Cave nequando obliviscaris pacti Domini Dei tui, quod pepigit tecum, et facias tibi sculptam similitudinem eorum, quæ fieri Dominus prohibuit:

24 quia Dominus Deus tuus ignis consumens est, Deus æmulator.

25 Si genueritis filios ac nepotes, et morati fueritis in terra, deceptique feceritis vobis aliquam similitudinem, patrantes malum coram Domino Deo vestro, ut eum ad iracundiam provocetis:

26 testes invoco hodie cælum et terram, cito perituros vos esse de terra, quam transito Jordane possessuri estis: non habitabitis in ea longo tempore, sed delebit vos Dominus,

27 atque disperget in omnes gentes, et remanebitis pauci in nationibus, ad quas vos ducturus est Dominus.

28 Ibique servietis diis, qui hominum manu fabricati sunt, ligno et lapidi qui non vident, nec audiunt, nec comedunt, nec odorantur.

29 Cumque quæsieris ibi Dominum Deum tuum, invenies eum: si tamen toto corde quæsieris, et tota tribulatione animæ tuæ.

30 Postquam te invenerint omnia quæ prædicta sunt, novissimo tempore reverteris ad Dominum Deum tuum, et audies vocem ejus.

31 Quia Deus misericors Dominus Deus tuus est: non dimittet te, nec omnino delebit, neque obliviscetur pacti, in quo juravit patribus tuis.

32 Interroga de diebus antiquis, qui fuerunt ante te ex die quo creavit Deus hominem super terram, a summo cælo usque ad summum ejus, si facta est aliquando hujuscemodi res, aut umquam cognitum est,

33 ut audiret populus vocem Dei loquentis de medio ignis, sicut tu audisti, et vixisti:

34 si fecit Deus ut ingrederetur, et tolleret sibi gentem de medio nationum, per tentationes, signa atque portenta, per pugnam et robustam manum, extentumque brachium, et horribiles visiones juxta omnia quæ fecit pro vobis Dominus Deus vester in Ægypto, videntibus oculis tuis:

35 ut scires quoniam Dominus ipse est Deus, et non est alius præter eum.

36 De cælo te fecit audire vocem suam, ut doceret te, et in terra ostendit tibi ignem suum maximum, et audisti verba illius de medio ignis:

37 quia dilexit patres tuos, et elegit semen eorum post eos. Eduxitque te præcedens in virtute sua magna ex Ægypto,

38 ut deleret nationes maximas et fortiores te in introitu tuo: et introduceret te, daretque tibi terram earum in possessionem, sicut cernis in præsenti die.

39 Scito ergo hodie, et cogitato in corde tuo quod Dominus ipse sit Deus in cælo sursum, et in terra deorsum, et non sit alius.

40 Custodi præcepta ejus atque mandata, quæ ego præcipio tibi: ut bene sit tibi, et filiis tuis post te, et permaneas multo tempore super terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus daturus est tibi.

41 Tunc separavit Moyses tres civitates trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam,

42 ut confugiat ad eas qui occiderit nolens proximum suum, nec sibi fuerit inimicus ante unum et alterum diem, et ad harum aliquam urbium possit evadere:

43 Bosor in solitudine, quæ sita est in terra campestri de tribu Ruben: et Ramoth in Galaad, quæ est in tribu Gad: et Golan in Basan, quæ est in tribu Manasse.

44 Ista est lex, quam proposuit Moyses coram filiis Israël:

45 et hæc testimonia et cæremoniæ atque judicia, quæ locutus est ad filios Israël, quando egressi sunt de Ægypto,

46 trans Jordanem in valle contra fanum Phogor in terra Sehon regis Amorrhæi, qui habitavit in Hesebon, quem percussit Moyses. Filii quoque Israël egressi ex Ægypto

47 possederunt terram ejus, et terram Og regis Basan, duorum regum Amorrhæorum, qui erant trans Jordanem ad solis ortum:

48 ab Aroër, quæ sita est super ripam torrentis Arnon, usque ad montem Sion, qui est et Hermon,

49 omnem planitiem trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam, usque ad mare solitudinis, et usque ad radices montis Phasga.
