1  To the chief Musician,⁵³²⁹ Al-taschith,⁵¹⁶ Michtam⁴³⁸⁷ of David;¹⁷³² when Saul⁷⁵⁸⁶ sent,⁷⁹⁷¹ and they watched^{8104 853} the house¹⁰⁰⁴ to kill⁴¹⁹¹ him. Deliver⁵³³⁷ me from mine enemies,^{4480 341} O my God:⁴³⁰ defend⁷⁶⁸² me from them that rise up against^{4480 6965} me.

2  Deliver⁵³³⁷ me from the workers^{4480 6466} of iniquity,²⁰⁵ and save³⁴⁶⁷ me from bloody¹⁸¹⁸ men.^{4480 376}

3  For,³⁵⁸⁸ lo,²⁰⁰⁹ they lie in wait⁶⁹³ for my soul:⁵³¹⁵ the mighty⁵⁷⁹⁴ are gathered¹⁴⁸¹ against⁵⁹²¹ me; not³⁸⁰⁸ for my transgression,⁶⁵⁸⁸ nor³⁸⁰⁸ for my sin,²⁴⁰³ O LORD.³⁰⁶⁸

4  They run⁷³²³ and prepare themselves³⁵⁵⁹ without¹⁰⁹⁷ my fault:⁵⁷⁷¹ awake⁵⁷⁸² to help⁷¹²⁵ me, and behold.⁷²⁰⁰

5  Thou⁸⁵⁹ therefore, O LORD³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of hosts,⁶⁶³⁵ the God⁴³⁰ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ awake⁶⁹⁷⁴ to visit⁶⁴⁸⁵ all³⁶⁰⁵ the heathen:¹⁴⁷¹ be not⁴⁰⁸ merciful²⁶⁰³ to any³⁶⁰⁵ wicked²⁰⁵ transgressors.⁸⁹⁸ Selah.⁵⁵⁴²

6  They return⁷⁷²⁵ at evening:⁶¹⁵³ they make a noise¹⁹⁹³ like a dog,³⁶¹¹ and go round about⁵⁴³⁷ the city.⁵⁸⁹²

7  Behold,²⁰⁰⁹ they belch out⁵⁰⁴² with their mouth:⁶³¹⁰ swords²⁷¹⁹ are in their lips:⁸¹⁹³ for³⁵⁸⁸ who,⁴³¹⁰ say they, doth hear?⁸⁰⁸⁵

8  But thou,⁸⁵⁹ O LORD,³⁰⁶⁸ shalt laugh⁷⁸³² at them; thou shalt have all³⁶⁰⁵ the heathen¹⁴⁷¹ in derision.³⁹³²

9  Because of his strength⁵⁷⁹⁷ will I wait⁸¹⁰⁴ upon⁴¹³ thee: for³⁵⁸⁸ God⁴³⁰ is my defense.⁴⁸⁶⁹

10  The God⁴³⁰ of my mercy²⁶¹⁷ shall prevent⁶⁹²³ me: God⁴³⁰ shall let me see⁷²⁰⁰ my desire upon mine enemies.⁸³²⁴

11  Slay²⁰²⁶ them not,⁴⁰⁸ lest⁶⁴³⁵ my people⁵⁹⁷¹ forget:⁷⁹¹¹ scatter⁵¹²⁸ them by thy power;²⁴²⁸ and bring them down,³³⁸¹ O Lord¹³⁶ our shield.⁴⁰⁴³

12  For the sin²⁴⁰³ of their mouth⁶³¹⁰ and the words¹⁶⁹⁷ of their lips⁸¹⁹³ let them even be taken³⁹²⁰ in their pride:¹³⁴⁷ and for cursing^{4480 423} and lying^{4480 3585} which they speak.⁵⁶⁰⁸

13  Consume³⁶¹⁵ them in wrath,²⁵³⁴ consume³⁶¹⁵ them, that they may not³⁶⁹ be: and let them know³⁰⁴⁵ that³⁵⁸⁸ God⁴³⁰ ruleth⁴⁹¹⁰ in Jacob³²⁹⁰ unto the ends⁶⁵⁷ of the earth.⁷⁷⁶ Selah.⁵⁵⁴²

14  And at evening⁶¹⁵³ let them return;⁷⁷²⁵ and let them make a noise¹⁹⁹³ like a dog,³⁶¹¹ and go round about⁵⁴³⁷ the city.⁵⁸⁹²

15  Let them¹⁹⁹² wander up and down⁵¹²⁸ for meat,³⁹⁸ and grudge³⁸⁸⁵ if⁵¹⁸ they be not³⁸⁰⁸ satisfied.⁷⁶⁴⁶

16  But I⁵⁸⁹ will sing⁷⁸⁹¹ of thy power;⁵⁷⁹⁷ yea, I will sing aloud⁷⁴⁴² of thy mercy²⁶¹⁷ in the morning:¹²⁴² for³⁵⁸⁸ thou hast been¹⁹⁶¹ my defense⁴⁸⁶⁹ and refuge⁴⁴⁹⁸ in the day³¹¹⁷ of my trouble.⁶⁸⁶²

17  Unto⁴¹³ thee, O my strength,⁵⁷⁹⁷ will I sing:²¹⁶⁷ for³⁵⁸⁸ God⁴³⁰ is my defense,⁴⁸⁶⁹ and the God⁴³⁰ of my mercy.²⁶¹⁷

2 ὁπότε ἐνεπύρισεν τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν Συρίας καὶ τὴν Συρίαν Σωβα καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ιωαβ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν φάραγγα τῶν ἁλῶν δώδεκα χιλιάδας

3 ὁ θεός ἀπώσω ἡμᾶς καὶ καθεῖλες ἡμᾶς ὠργίσθης καὶ οἰκτίρησας ἡμᾶς

4 συνέσεισας τὴν γῆν καὶ συνετάραξας αὐτήν ἴασαι τὰ συντρίμματα αὐτῆς ὅτι ἐσαλεύθη

5 ἔδειξας τῷ λαῷ σου σκληρά ἐπότισας ἡμᾶς οἶνον κατανύξεως

6 ἔδωκας τοῖς φοβουμένοις σε σημείωσιν τοῦ φυγεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τόξου διάψαλμα

7 ὅπως ἂν ῥυσθῶσιν οἱ ἀγαπητοί σου σῶσον τῇ δεξιᾷ σου καὶ ἐπάκουσόν μου

8 ὁ θεὸς ἐλάλησεν ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ ἀγαλλιάσομαι καὶ διαμεριῶ Σικιμα καὶ τὴν κοιλάδα τῶν σκηνῶν διαμετρήσω

9 ἐμός ἐστιν Γαλααδ καὶ ἐμός ἐστιν Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ κραταίωσις τῆς κεφαλῆς μου Ιουδας βασιλεύς μου

10 Μωαβ λέβης τῆς ἐλπίδος μου ἐπὶ τὴν Ιδουμαίαν ἐκτενῶ τὸ ὑπόδημά μου ἐμοὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ὑπετάγησαν

11 τίς ἀπάξει με εἰς πόλιν περιοχῆς τίς ὁδηγήσει με ἕως τῆς Ιδουμαίας

12 οὐχὶ σύ ὁ θεός ὁ ἀπωσάμενος ἡμᾶς καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ὁ θεός ἐν ταῖς δυνάμεσιν ἡμῶν

13 δὸς ἡμῖν βοήθειαν ἐκ θλίψεως καὶ ματαία σωτηρία ἀνθρώπου

14 ἐν δὲ τῷ θεῷ ποιήσομεν δύναμιν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξουδενώσει τοὺς θλίβοντας ἡμᾶς

‎1 ‏לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת֮ לְדָוִ֪ד מִ֫כְתָּ֥ם בִּשְׁלֹ֥חַ שָׁא֑וּל וַֽיִּשְׁמְר֥וּ אֶת־הַ֝בַּ֗יִת לַהֲמִיתֽוֹ׃

‎2 ‏הַצִּילֵ֖נִי מֵאֹיְבַ֥י׀ אֱלֹהָ֑י מִּמִתְקוֹמְמַ֥י תְּשַׂגְּבֵֽנִי׃

‎3 ‏הַ֭צִּילֵנִי מִפֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן וּֽמֵאַנְשֵׁ֥י דָ֝מִ֗ים הוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃

‎4 ‏כִּ֤י הִנֵּ֪ה אָֽרְב֡וּ לְנַפְשִׁ֗י יָג֣וּרוּ עָלַ֣י עַזִ֑ים לֹא־פִשְׁעִ֖י וְלֹא־חַטָּאתִ֣י יְהוָֽה׃

‎5 ‏בְּֽלִי־עָ֭וֹן יְרוּצ֣וּן וְיִכּוֹנָ֑נוּ ע֖וּרָה לִקְרָאתִ֣י וּרְאֵה׃

‎6 ‏וְאַתָּ֤ה יְהוָֽה־אֱלֹהִ֥ים׀ צְבָא֡וֹת אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הָקִ֗יצָה לִפְקֹ֥ד כָּֽל־הַגּוֹיִ֑ם אַל־תָּחֹ֨ן כָּל־בֹּ֖גְדֵי אָ֣וֶן סֶֽלָה׃

‎7 ‏יָשׁ֣וּבוּ לָ֭עֶרֶב יֶהֱמ֥וּ כַכָּ֗לֶב וִיס֥וֹבְבוּ עִֽיר׃

‎8 ‏הִנֵּ֤ה׀ יַבִּ֘יע֤וּן בְּפִיהֶ֗ם חֲ֭רָבוֹת בְּשִׂפְתוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם כִּי־מִ֥י שֹׁמֵֽעַ׃

‎9 ‏וְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הוָה תִּשְׂחַק־לָ֑מוֹ תִּ֝לְעַ֗ג לְכָל־גּוֹיִֽם׃

‎10 ‏עֻ֭זּוֹ אֵלֶ֣יךָ אֶשְׁמֹ֑רָה כִּֽי־אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים מִשְׂגַּבִּֽי׃

‎11 ‏אֱלֹהֵ֣י חסדו חַסְדִּ֣י יְקַדְּמֵ֑נִי אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים יַרְאֵ֥נִי בְשֹׁרְרָֽי׃

‎12 ‏אַל־תַּהַרְגֵ֤ם׀ פֶּֽן־יִשְׁכְּח֬וּ עַמִּ֗י הֲנִיעֵ֣מוֹ בְ֭חֵילְךָ וְהוֹרִידֵ֑מוֹ מָֽגִנֵּ֣נוּ אֲדֹנָֽי׃

‎13 ‏חַטַּאת־פִּ֗ימוֹ דְּֽבַר־שְׂפָ֫תֵ֥ימוֹ וְיִלָּכְד֥וּ בִגְאוֹנָ֑ם וּמֵאָלָ֖ה וּמִכַּ֣חַשׁ יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃

‎14 ‏כַּלֵּ֥ה בְחֵמָה֮ כַּלֵּ֪ה וְֽאֵ֫ינֵ֥מוֹ וְֽיֵדְע֗וּ כִּֽי־אֱ֭לֹהִים מֹשֵׁ֣ל בְּיַעֲקֹ֑ב לְאַפְסֵ֖י הָאָ֣רֶץ סֶֽלָה׃

‎15 ‏וְיָשׁ֣וּבוּ לָ֭עֶרֶב יֶהֱמ֥וּ כַכָּ֗לֶב וִיס֥וֹבְבוּ עִֽיר׃

‎16 ‏הֵ֭מָּה ינועון יְנִיע֣וּן לֶאֱכֹ֑ל אִם־לֹ֥א יִ֝שְׂבְּע֗וּ וַיָּלִֽינוּ׃

‎17 ‏וַאֲנִ֤י׀ אָשִׁ֣יר עֻזֶּךָ֮ וַאֲרַנֵּ֥ן לַבֹּ֗קֶר חַ֫סְדֶּ֥ךָ כִּֽי־הָיִ֣יתָ מִשְׂגָּ֣ב לִ֑י וּ֝מָנ֗וֹס בְּי֣וֹם צַר־לִֽי׃

‎18 ‏עֻ֭זִּי אֵלֶ֣יךָ אֲזַמֵּ֑רָה כִּֽי־אֱלֹהִ֥ים מִ֝שְׂגַּבִּ֗י אֱלֹהֵ֥י חַסְדִּֽי׃

2 cum succendit Mesopotamiam Syriæ et Sobal, et convertit Joab, et percussit Idumæam in valle Salinarum duodecim millia.

3 [Deus, repulisti nos, et destruxisti nos;
iratus es, et misertus es nobis.

4 Commovisti terram, et conturbasti eam;
sana contritiones ejus, quia commota est.

5 Ostendisti populo tuo dura;
potasti nos vino compunctionis.

6 Dedisti metuentibus te significationem,
ut fugiant a facie arcus;
ut liberentur dilecti tui.

7 Salvum fac dextera tua, et exaudi me.

8 Deus locutus est in sancto suo:
lætabor, et partibor Sichimam;
et convallem tabernaculorum metibor.

9 Meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses;
et Ephraim fortitudo capitis mei.
Juda rex meus;

10 Moab olla spei meæ.
In Idumæam extendam calceamentum meum:
mihi alienigenæ subditi sunt.

11 Quis deducet me in civitatem munitam?
quis deducet me usque in Idumæam?

12 nonne tu, Deus, qui repulisti nos?
et non egredieris, Deus, in virtutibus nostris?

13 Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione,
quia vana salus hominis.

14 In Deo faciemus virtutem;
et ipse ad nihilum deducet tribulantes nos.]
